Having to go for an interview for my own fucking job on Monday next week precludes me going to this (it takes me at least 3 days to recover these days........!).

Brilliant night - great crowd singing along. Set list was the norm though, NO tracks were Ceremony, Regret, Crystal, BLT and Temptation. JD - Transmission and LWTUA.

Bernard seemed on top form and Jake has got a tremendous voice!

Agreed, they sounded especially good last night. Even got to meet Gillian on the barrier, but couldn't get my damn phone to work.

Setlist?

Very good atmosphere at the Bad Lieutenant gig. I enjoyed Jake's Band Orbit on Saturday, Stephen DJ-Set and Gillian's performance in the crowd of the Charlatans. :D

Typed this over, don't know how to add a picture I made of the setlist I captured.

Anyway: he started saying how cold it was. That he was very pleased to see the audience. Also a talk about how glad he was that finally there was an event like FOM. That there is not much happening like that in Manchester. (my note: I talked to several people during the weekend, why is nobody remembering Cities in the Park, it is 20 years ago, but still...). He said it was nice to play here 'as it is at our doorstep'. He introduced the Electronic song as 'what he made together with Johnny Marr, and that he likes to play it 'because it is a good song'. The crowd went crazy on the NO songs and JD songs. A bit hard to see for me as I was in the front not giving up my place at the barrier. Hard to tell how may people there were, but the site at FOM was big enough for a lot more. Personally I like very much how they let Out of Control fade into Temptation. They did that in London too by the way. In between he made a little joke by introducing their drummer Stephen Morris, as if nobody knows. Stephen was standing up, turning to the drummachine, he had to laugh which was nice to see. Also in between it took some time to get the guitars on tone (? what is the word for that ?). Bernard looked around, took the time, and asked if everybody was ready, specially Jake. That's about it. At the end he said something about IC and that it was 31 years ago.... and the rest I did not get I am afraid (overwhelmed by LWTUA?). Well, probable there will be a tape popping up some time where you can hear all this... ;-)

Well, I think we know now which one in the band it was who ensured there was at least some set list variety in the later days........

I am a little sad to see that they didn't play Poisonous Intent...that's my favorite BL song and it sounded really great live.

Since Steve is now a full member of BL and is writing and playing on the new BL album, I am hoping there will be some more combination of sequenced and live drumming.
