I think Paris was a little bit better. The people in the crowd were seemed more into it, the sound was a better and the band itself was more precise. Although in Brussels Bernard had more communication with the crowd...

Brussels, by an absolute landslide.

In Brussels, we had no idea what to expect. We got to see New Order with a new line-up for the very first time in five years, and also got to see how that line-up would literally 'line-up' on stage, we got to hear four songs for the first time in over twenty years, we got new openings for both True Faith and Temptation, etc, et cetera.

In Paris we got absolutely nothing special really. More of the same. Or the 'same old shit' which is a popular, and ironic, term here.

Paris for me,Brussels was always gonna be predictable so gave it a body swerve:evil4:

Brussels was better, though Crystal was better in Paris.

Superficial maybe, but in Paris the video montages were not working for some songs..

and the fact nobody expected some of the songs played / had seen NO for years and wasn't expecting to see them again made it very special.

Brussels was far better! I echo El Jarvo's comments, the anticipation of seeing how the new line-up would fare and if we'd get any gems from the back catalogue was uppermost in our thoughts. To hear AOC and 586 for the first time in ages was mindblowing for me personally and I was also well pished. In Paris, in my heart of hearts, I was hoping they would pull another rabbit out of the hat but understandably the set was the same. Whilst the performance was polished enough, and we had a decent vantage point, the anticipation wasn't the same as they'd proved the previous night that they could pull it off under this guise. There was also the fact that I was soberish, therefore I didn't really enjoy it as much at all.

I think the performance in Paris was stronger, but I voted for Brussels. Just the sheer joy of seeing them again after so long could never be repeated in Paris. Disappointing that it was exactly the same set list in Paris too, but beggars can't be choosers.

Loved the "new" versions of Temptation, & 586 and how good was it to see Barney enjoying himself so much?

I have it on good authority that more shows are already penciled in, possibly even this year. Bring 'em on!

P.S. Best videos (by far) on YouTube from either gig, but actually from Paris:

The competition for me is to get hold of the setlist, what I managed to do both times. It's 2-0 for Ed McPike.

But serious: Brussels was good for the set, the videos and the surprise of how good it was. Paris had a better sound in my opinion, but lacked the interaction with the crowd. Maybe due to the number of English speaking persons in the crowd related to Brussels? And by the way, it was fckng hot there in the Bataclan, someone forgot to turn on the airco? Err.. my vote goes to Belgium!
