I'm in for Oakland/SF on 05OCT.

Who else is in?

grabbed tickets and headed to the show with my college roommate. First NO show was at the Kaiser in 05 (not counting Jimmy Kimmel Live). Should be a good time!

I got my tickets this morning. I still have my t-shirts from 1993 Shoreline Ampitheatre show. I'm really looking forward to the smaller venue with general admission/standing room admission.

I was planning to fly to Oakland and I thought that the presale starts on July 29th. Hell no! I see now that it started on July 26th. Now I cannot get a ticket. Totally upset and all.

BTW, who's opening?

I think, the presale contingent is sold. Tomorrow the public sale starts. I hope to get one, too.

Still nothing doing. I was right on from the 1st minute.

If you google for SF tickets, you'll find a secondary seller. They're pushing tickets at $121 for GA.

If anyone's got lucky with Ticketmaster, please post here, for us to see if it actually works for the Oakland venue.

Nothing and I have never seen that before were nothing at all available at start time. Something is not right here.

I haven't got through to the NO tickets since 10 AM and I have been checking sporadically since then.

It sucks that they started the presale last Thursday but I was too busy to be bothered. I only realized there was a presale yesterday and even then I was unable to obtain tickets. You would think they would only sell an allotted number of tickets during a presale and the rest through the "public" sale. Makes you wonder why they even bother to state the 29th as the official sale date when in fact it had been sold out for three days already!

At least I've seen them twice during Area 51 and in '05 during the Sirens tour at the Kaiser center and I got to see Hooky before he quit. Unfortunately I've never seen NO with Gillian so that's a bit of a disappointment.

Is there a way to find out if Oakland is sold out? Because if it is, then further checking on Ticketmaster is pointless. I see some 70+ people are attending - Idk if they only plan to do so, or they actually possess tickets; most of them announced that 3 days ago, mind you.

I have also been trying since 10AM. I was surprised to find them unavailable. I think the Fox theater holds 1200.

Checked the Dallas show and it is sold out. They went on sale two days ago. I wonder if it also sold out immediately? Well there is an opening in their schedule before the Oakland date, they should add a date at the Greek.

According to the Fox's website: "The Theater has a reception capacity of up to 2,000 guests, a banquet capacity of up to 500 and a theater capacity of up to 1,800."

Also, not to give false hope to people on here, but typically when a show sells out this fast at the Fox and there's nothing on the calendar the day before or after, a band will book a second night. I see NO has nothing on their schedule for Saturday, Oct. 6th, and neither does the Fox. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The "sold-out" status is due to the hacks who had purchased presale tickets to re-sell through eBay and Craigslist (I see some of them offer 10 or more tickets for $150 a piece). New Order won't add a second night. Maybe an additional U.S. city, but there's no much time left for promoters. So I don't know what opportunities it leaves to NO fans other than buying tickets at a fucked up price. [nonono]

There are multiple online secondary sellers with tickets available, some are selling seats for over $300. It seems that either they filled their boots in the pre-sale or the primary seller (ape) have been happy to collude with them.

Does anyone on here have a spare standing/General Admission ticket? that they are willing to sell at face value.

I hope you're wrong about any possibility of a second night, but I can see your point. The example I was thinking of was the recent Snow Patrol dates. I don't think NO is doing this tour as a drum up to bigger venues, so you might be right, but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed.

If they've got 10 tickets to sell, that means that seller had more than one person was buying them up because 8 was the limit!

Unfortunately there are 'pro scums' out there that scrape up the presale tix and sell for profits later. This really f's up the true fans.

I know that the Los Angeles date/venue for the Greek Theater Los Angeles (OCT 09) goes on sale on 8/4 --- with no presale info released yet.

Still, I searched stubhub.com --- and saw about 10 listings ( ~ 40 tix) for sale at ~ $200 - $400. Where did they get their tix?

Good luck with search for more OAK tix. I hope they add a second date for OAK --- in fact add 10/6 for OAK and add another LA date for 10/8!

Dallas show did not sell out immediately...I didn't manage to get online until Friday night, and managed to bag my ticket...should have purchased extras...

That matches my take on this.

Saw the StubHub site too, don't know how they've secured these tickets unless they have an arrangement with the official ticket agent. Doesn't look great. Is this standard in the States....for secondary sellers to advertise tickets before the official pre/public sales have even started ?!.

so is anyone going to plan a meet up for pre-show? was looking at Fox website -- i've been there once and only drank at the bar next door Rudy's Can't Fail, which was good but pricey. Was thinking this place sounded real good and you can't go wrong with $5 mexican beers in a major city. Any thoughts?

Someone more local can probably chime in but I don't know if Xolo would be the right choice. It's more of a simple Mexican restaurant that probably wouldn't be thrilled with people lingering after their meals and boozing it up. Only Mexican beer on the menu.

The Fox has a nice bar, but can't comment on the food. I've eaten at Flora across the street, but that might be a bit too upscale and crowded for our purposes.

It would be nice to find something close as I'll probably stay in San Francisco and get to the venue by BART, which has a station a block away. Again, someone from the Bay Area will probably have a solution.

The bar/restaurant at The Fox is nice.

I haven't secured a ticket yet, but I'm planning on going regardless of the expense.

Bruce B just so happens to be visiting me from Toronto that weekend, so 2/3 of the crew behind Recycle will be there.

Reckon we'll do the same as Andy and stay in SF. We stayed near Union Square in '05 and got the Bart back, was pretty easy. Going out there we took a cab, some Russian driver - apparently there's loads of Ruski's in SF? - anyway he took us round the houses, even went to some Basketball Arena first and tried to rip us off. Imagine his surprise when one of our lot started speaking to him in Russian & gave him some sound advice ;-). Good work Johnny Boots.

Ps: still need an Oakland ticket!

The bar at the Fox is nice, was there for Band of Horses in 09 - had Anderson Valley on tap which made me very happy. It was pricey though. As a fan of Recycle, I may need to buy some drinks if 2/3 of the crew behind it is coming.

Driving up to S.F. that afternoon but want to meet up as well. Arrived a bit too late in 2005 for any pre-gig festivities.

While you're near the Mission District, you must go to Dynamo Donut + Coffee.

Alright. We are almost two weeks out. I'm coming from the East Coast, and this is my one New Order show this time around, after hitting 4 in 2005. Who is taking point on setting up a meet up prior to the show? Will I be able to secure a Viking Badge?? Will @newordernow ever acknowledge my tweets requesting Thieves Like Us?? Who the hell is opening the show??

Let's get this Friday night party started right!

I'm coming down from Seattle for the show but I lived in the Bay Area for a few years. Radio is a decent dive bar in downtown Oakland and it's only about 4 blocks from the venue. The address is 435 13th St. and it's right down the street from the 12th St. BART stop. I would definitely be up for a meetup before the show.

It's getting down to the wire and as this is thus far the only "local" recommendation, we should probably reach a consensus. The only other viable alternative I've seen is The Den, which is located in the same building as The Fox (get it?) Theatre.

Another option is Disco Volante if people are looking to get food as well. It's also about 4-5 blocks from the Fox Theatre. I've never been to the Den. I've heard it's nice but I believe the prices are a little steep. It sounds like quite a few people are coming in from out of town for the show so it would be cool if we could arrange something.

I read some discussions pertaining to the ticket sales.

My company actually did some consulting work with TM. They came to us with a complain: too many bots are infiltrating the site, buying and reselling tickets with none of the extra profits going to the artists (yea right...). They want us to build a predictive model to minimize the number of bots finalizing transactions.

One would think TM wants to eliminate all bots no? Nope. They want to keep some bots so that events appear to be "selling out" fast.

We did some data testing. Built a really good model. Base on the first 3 clicks, we can predict with 75% probability whether the user is a bot. Results were amazing.

Then TM dropped us without paying a cent. Word has it they wanted to hire their own analytics team and build their own model.

Judging from what's happening...I don't think they got very far. [:p]

very much would like to do something. The Den is nice and had good beer selections when I was there in 2009, but food was lacking. In fact, my trips to Oakland for shows have lead to bad food before shows -- Taco Bell in 09 and some Morracon restaurant prior to New Order in 2005. Saw Hooky, ate Morracon, felt funky afterwards and did not eat much...not my cup of tea.

Would love to see something come together!

Andy, the Den, not sure if you were being serious (I'm hoping not), but its got a dress code and seems pretty upmarket.

Radio seems a lot more us.

Check out the link above, all the feedback is positive, it's near the venue, Murky has been there before and rates it, what's not to like?

Radio gets my vote.

I wasn't joking about The Den, though. I was there for two shows last year and the only people there appeared to be the concert goers. No dress code inforced on show nights perhaps?

I can get to Radio as early as 6:00. I don't think they have much in the way of food so I may get dinner elsewhere in downtown beforehand (Tamarindo Antojeria is good if you like Mexican tapas). Yep, Disco Volante is a better post-show option since they serve food past midnight.

Radio doesnt look that big from the outside so just listen out for English accents would be one way. You may see Viking pins on people's shirts too, that would be a sign! See you later.
