Both shows? What time?

Well go there for lunch, then head up to Aspen Social Club before the gig. Aspen is just round the corner from Roseland. Heathers is a couple of miles away.

Decide for sure when we know show times.

We're not getting into NYC until 3 or so, so we'll come look for everybody at Aspen.

My mate is djing on Thu so we will probably be tin a bit sharper than normal.

Anybody know of any dive bars near Roseland? Aspen place looks nice, but $14 cocktails will cost me a fortune to get good and snickered.

Both bars come from my mate, who's a native.

He says the same thing as you: Heathers is a good New York place to spend a few hours, Aspen is a good bet for meeting up very close to the venue.

So that's what we're doing.

I'm hearing that Heathers is planning to put something on after the gig with Billy Caldwell Justin Strauss, the show DJs for Thursday.

I'm coming in solo for the show about 4'ish from Baltimore. I'm trying to get some legendary pizza from multiple places and figure I'll be around about 6. I'd love to have some people to drink with. I'm not worried about the prices at Aspen Social Club. Although, there is a bar that's 7 blocks away that has $3 beers and free hot dogs, (one per drink.)

I arrived to NYC on sunday morning. Also there is an irish pub 2 blocks far from The venue, anyway i'll be around 6 pm wherever you decide!!

Shows it has been a while since I've been here, since I had to re-register.

Anyhoo...I'll be driving up from DC on Thursday and seeing both shows. Super mega NO/JD fan. Last time I got to see them was on the Area One festival out in San Francisco with Billy Corgan and Moby playing with the band. First cassette owned was Power, Corruption & Lies.

I'll try to get over to the Aspen Social Club place, but a couple friends I'm meeting are angling for more of a pub kind of place (sorry, one of them is our host and I am a bit at their whim) A joint called Valhalla http://www.valhallabarnyc.com is on the shortlist. Never been. Looks kind of frat boyish, but a tad more relaxed nonetheless...

Regardless if we all meet up or not (hopefully we do), we are seeing New Order in NYC for the first time in seven fucking years! Haven't seen Gillian since the 80's!! I can't even think about sleeping, and my flight is in 7 hours.

Anyways, keep this post alive if pre-game venue changes tomorrow. Would be great to raise a glass with some fellow folks.

Got here yesterday. Staying three blocks from the venue which I can see the back of from my room. I'll be out for beers but not in the places listed here. Dunno if I'll bump into anyone but I'm travelling solo. Not a huge fan of New York but with the band in town I'm now buzzing :-)

Yeah let's stay with Aspen at six. Won't be doing much before that, currently lying in a darkened room. It's pissing down outside.

New Order on stage nine fifteen last night. Storming set. 1963 and Close Range back. Two song encore. Massive reception for the JD stuff and the Forever PowerPoint slide.

After show was great too. New York is party town. Ended up on the roof of the hotel at 4am, discussing the relative merits of the education systems in Germany, Columbia and the UK. Rock and roll.

We did try to come over to Aspen, but we didn't get going until late and we felt like it was a long way (in the opposite direction from our hotel) from the venue...or did we miss it?

Right.... I'm getting a tattoo in a couple minutes and then I'll meet you guys at aspen. i am prolly going to leave the bar earlier than last night as i do not want to mace any fucking frat boys.
