It should be Marr supporting New Order, not the other way round. It's bad enough with Re:Order always supporting The Smyths but this going too far now.
er, or is he actually in fact supporting NO? If so that's fine then![]()
New Order headline. Marr as support.
This info shouldn't really have come out. Marr tweeted it a few hours ago which as the support act....shouldn't really happen that way around. Anyways his tweet has now been deleted but genie is already out of the bottle.
Lucky Californians!
Should we expect an Electronic song in the set? I know it's wrong on all accounts, but what a chance...

I'm not expecting that - too obvious.
Can't see it as part of a NO set. They've never played other Bernard tracks in a NO set, well apart from JD obvs. Best chance might be at Coachella, during Marr's turn, rather than Bernard coming on during his own support act.
Marr did say in one of his many interviews he was working up Forbidden City for his live show, since he played a big hand in writing that one.
I'll assume for now that this little run is not leaving CA to hit any other stops. Would love it if they hit a few cities they missed in October -- Houston, Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, Montreal would all be nice.
So if Johnny's only tweeted the gigs he's supporting, their could be others?
*twirls moustache*
I think the hand clapping that has been introduced to True Faith and Temptation live, should go down really well with the Las Vegas Audience - COME ON ! AWESOME !
This is great news as I am not going to Coachella. We are definitely going to Santa Barbara.

One of their more unusual venues. Brings to mind the awkward Regret Baywatch clip.

Well, it's only one date - it's hardly Celine Dion! ![]()

That's it for this tour.

I suspect they're in the running to headline the second or third night at Coachella as well.
Longtime fan, lurker, and Vegas resident here. Anyone know how we can presale tickets? Ticketmaster just says
Identity Presale Start: Thu, 02/07/13 10:00 AM PST End: Fri, 02/08/13 10:00 AM PST
Thanks, Joe
I'll get to LAX on april 18th at 09:30 and i would make Santa Barbara. Someone may give me a ride to Santa Barbara that day?? or someone else is going there from L.A?
Has anyone found the Ticketmaster password for the Vegas presale?
Getting flash backs to the October tour!
Can whoever locates it, post it on here please.
New Order made the front page of the Las Vegas paper yesterday:
http://www.lvrj.com/neon/cosmo-catching-coachella-acts-coming-going-189618071.html
Basically, the article is about all the bands that are playing Coachella that are also playing at the Cosmopolitan hotel here in Vegas.

I had the same question myself...
Since the Las Vegas date (and Santa Barbara) hasn't been formally announced by NO doesn't it stand that no one has a password yet?!?!
mdiver65 wrote: Since the Las Vegas date (and Santa Barbara) hasn't been formally announced by NO doesn't it stand that no one has a password yet?!?!
Vegas show on venue and ticket vendor sites. I wouldn't count on the New Order site for up-to-the-minute updates.
I went to Roseland with the idea that it would probably be my last chance to see NO. And now they're touring with Johnny Marr, and if they're only doing Western US dates, then I get to drop some $$$ on airfare and hotel too.
*shakes fist* *sighs heavily* *starts searching for presale codes*

The official New Order twitter account confirmed the show yesterday and posted a link to Ticketmaster.
It's from that link that we can see there's a presale. Just no code!

Fly in...pre-gig piss up...see The Order...more beer...fly home...fuck the hotel.
Since Morrissey cancelled his Vegas show again, i used the flight credit for NO in April. Very excited to see them 2 more times. "En-ger-land"

I contacted the identity club at the Cosmo and they told me an email would be going out to eligible members on the morning of the pre sale. I've been a member for a while but have little play, if I get the code I'll post it but only once I've got mu ticket. I already had the Cosmo booked for those dates too :D
There's a pre sale starting at 10am Vegas time today.
The pre sale is though Ticketmaster and the password is: Boulevard
New Order will publicise this on their official twitter account shortly so this will be widely seen. Best to be on line as soon as it opens.
Good luck!
Ps yesterday's pre sale was for The Cosmopolitan's Hotel members only. Today's pre sale is for everyone.

Pre sale for everyone - bit of an oxymoron
Mike, that's how Ticketmaster roll in the States. Totally different to the UK. Learnt this from experience with the October tour.
I suppose those who are really keen and research the presale option get a better chance.
Newordernow.net has also been updated.
Some further interesting news for State side New Order fans!

'boulevard' is the code (all lowercase IF anyone is having problems but it probably doesn't matter).
As above

I'm on Ticketmaster and it still doesn't have (at least that I can find) a way to buy the tickets.

I've just heard Fac51 and BigInOil have got tickets too.
Anyone know a great hotel in Vegas? The Cosmopolitan is a bit pricey, doubt we'll be staying there.
A number of cheap hotels are around the fremont street instead of staying at the strip or Las Vegas boulevard, but sometimes you can find good offers everywhere. I've been 3 times, and all of them i stayed at differents hotels...The Sahara, HRH, and Holiday inn, so check on the net.
I've got 2 tix!!!!!
Give me all that I demand, I need some Las Vegas sand!!! We can get drunk like a fool and see New Order by a pool
Pyrtwist wrote: I've got 2 tix!!!!!

good one 😂
Just got my ticket for Las Vegas. I lived in Vegas for a few years and you can find very reasonable hotel rates if you're willing to stay in downtown Las Vegas (Fremont Street) which is only few miles from the strip. On my last return trip to Las Vegas I booked a two night stay at a clean, reasonable downtown Las Vegas Casino Hotel for $25 (it was over New Years).
Sahara is now closed. With the opening of the Cosmo and Citycenter, there are now so many rooms on the Strip that you can usually now find nice rooms for fairly cheap. Our friends recently stayed at Vdara and got a great rate for a room with an amazing view of the Strip.
I got two tickets to the Las Vegas show. Does it mean I can watch the band playing while laying drunk by the pool?
Problem is: I'm not sure if I'll be back in the States by then.
From the homepage: 'NEW ORDER 2013 TOUR New Order are very happy to be...' They certainly look it in that photo. Such joy.

It's a miracle the NOOL homepage has been updated so promptly! I like it when they look miserable. Makes me feel happy for some reason... Too bad we can't see Steve looking miserable in that shot too.
mdiver65 wrote: Does anyone know the capacity for The Cosmopolitan-Pool for concerts??
And can you...
I live here in Las Vegas, but haven't been to a show at the Cosmo yet. From what I understand, it's a decent venue for a show. Don't let the name (Boulevard Pool) fool you, it's not going to be the band playing in front of a bunch of people standing around in a pool, it's a legit venue. The Cosmo, since it opened, has been infamous for booking acts that have been a bit off the Vegas norm, especially on the Strip.
On another note, let me just say that I am so jacked about this show, it's driving me nuts. I grew up in the U.S. Midwest in the 80's. I liked a lot of music that simply wasn't played on the radio too often in those parts, and New Order wasn't exactly itching to play in Iowa while I was younger.
So to be here in Vegas (for probably 2-4 years only), and have this show fall into my lap...well...I'll put it this way. We have a trip to Hawaii planned for late March, and I'm more excited about seeing New Order on April 11th.
This concert is a "bucket list" thing for me. I know, Hooky isn't there anymore, but you know what, the show will go on, and I, for one, can't wait.
mdiver65 wrote: Does anyone know the capacity for The Cosmopolitan-Pool for concerts??
3,000.
Another Viking just joined the trip..,
The Hacienda Must Be Rebuilt is on the team too.
What could go wrong?
We intend to play more US dates later in the year.
So do you think they now fully realize a three week jaunt in the States/Canada with 10-12 dates equals $2 million plus box office. Add on merchanidise sales and you make a little mint each time you come back. If they are coming back, I hope they follow through on Bernard's prior statements and maybe play the cities they have not seen in years -- Philadelphia, Boston, etc. I would love to see them in Philly. I can hope right OMD played in Philly 2 years ago and it was their first time there in 25 years.

Someone with a big mouth cried loud to someone of the management. 🙄
Great to read about the pending Amercias' and US tour, but on the NOISE front page there are only four band members (Steve is missing) and it must be a recent picture because Barney ain't all in black ?
I know I've been away for a while, but have I missed some vital piece of news ? as even here the news does eventually get through. & no I ain't been in prison, just bogged down with life away from NOOL.
J.G.: sterling work on keeping the info flowing. Much appreciated.

Yes, let's hope we all get good seats or GA. Excited for Vegas, and then catching a flight to SF for OMD and Bat for Lashes, and hopefully Blur adds a show on their own, but then back to LA and driving to Santa Barbara for some more NO and Johnny! ![]()
Santa Barbara tickets go on sale 2 March.
Further information nearer the time but all other recent NO shows in the States should provide a clue as to how this is going to work.
Update on 16 Feb: the date has moved out to 2 March & Ticketmaster is the agent.

I waited 30 years before seeing them for the first time last fall in Toronto. Now, I have my flights, concert tickets, and a weekend at the Cosmopolitan booked to see them again. Adding in the Vampire Weekend concert on Friday.
If anyone can suggest after-show parties, clubs, where we can keep the vibe going (okay, a bunch of 40-50-somethings reliving the '80s,,,) that would be a great idea.
Michael (Oh how I cannot bear the thought of you).

Yes. PST = Pacific Standard Time.
They need to come back to Chicago, they sold about 4,000 tickets in <30 minutes for the October show!
Santa Barbara Apr 18th: Will call tickets not available until lthe date of the event????? [eek2]
Everyone get sorted?
Leggy, Sandra, Hacienda Must Be Rebuilt, me & Fac 51 all got GA tickets. Can't believe that went so smoothely, after the LA & Oakland debacles, it was painless.
Who else is coming to this?
Vegas is selling well but there are still tickets available.
The Cosmopolitan is putting on a load of bands in April, who are all out there doing Coachella, New Order are the best seller so far.
Hey Johnny,
We are still trying to score tics for SB. Can't believe I missed the pre-sale. Now it's just Section G.

I predict this forum will be down for the duration of U.S. gigs again like last time and no one would be able to meet each other, due to the total collapse of NOOL communication

Me, but now i have to look for a ride back to L.A. right after the gig, there is no public transportation from to SB to L.A. late at nights. So, if i won't get transportation i won't make it. Do you guys return to L.A. on friday 19th?? i guess you do.
I hope they'll play Confusion, and In A Lonely Place as an encore. Confusion is great live, Barney always seemed to have fun with it, not sure how he feels towards it now...

General Admission for me as well.
Ticketmaster online receipt: "FIRST LEVEL FLOOR HOUSE LEFT" Does this mean the general admission areas are segregated from each other? I've not been to the Santa Barbara County Bowl since seeing New Order there in 1989.
Andy - that's exactly the same as on our receipt. Fac51 & I were having the same 'what does this mean?' conversation. The GA area seemed to be split into 3 blocks on the Ticketmaster site so maybe as you say, it's the left hand one?. Who knows?

That's why I've got the cell numbers of most folk on here now to avoid being dependant on this place. Feel free to throw your digits to my inbox to avoid another Denver.
Last night at Johnny Marr's warm up gig for his UK tour, he played 2 Electronic tracks, Forbidden City & during the encore Getting Away With It. So would be worth getting into the venue early if you want to hear them.
I can't believe GA in still available for Santa Barbara and Vegas. Do we think these shows will even sell out? I thought after the Greek Theater here last year it was a no brainer these would sell out quick. Any thoughts?

Two weekends of Coachella and many of those bands doing side shows. There's only so many concert-goers (and their money) to go around.

Reading in between the lines: Andrés will not return from the desert outside Coachella as Jaime will return to Texas wearing a suit made from his skin.
Another date added...New Order with Holy Ghost 7/28 Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia Md.
On July 24th they are playing Williamsburg Park in Brooklyn...right in my neighborhood, I can walk to the show! Excited.
Holy Ghost is a good opener. Holy Ghost are on DFA.
Maybe New Order will put the new record out on DFA....
What are the odds the DC/Philly shows will be substantially different from NYC Roseland? I loved the show but I feel like I've seen it.
Well they will be outdoors, for starters which makes it more fun for me. Set wise, I think we all know that they may mix it up 2-3 songs a night max. So contenders would be "Hellbent", "I'll Stay With You", "Touched By the Hand of God", "Round and Round" and "World", that we know of. On a good source, they worked up "Sunrise" last fall but never played it. They also played "Thieves Like Us" once in Germany. Songs that make logical sense with Gillian could include "Paradise". At 55 years young, despite the recent burst of touring, I am viewing this as a possible last time thing since I'm likely not going to get the Mrs. approval to head to Europe for a show with a 3 and 5 year old at home. So, I'll be at both.
The Mrs. first NO show, my 6th and 7th shows. She wants "Love Vigilantes".
