Sitting in a nearby tree as the newordersound wafts over space city is cheap enough, but will it be a shortened set and or will they play everything?. Day one could mean a set of the new songs plus brutal, sabotage, such a good thing , hellbent, heart and soul, ceremony, transmission, dream attack, and special. Day two features tbthog, vs, crystal, all day long, denial, cries and whispers, temptation, a couple of melodica songs(ysf and rw),close range, out of control, world in motion ,draculas castle , behind closed doors, rock the shack , everyone everywhere, true faith, atmosphere, age of consent, and this time tonight. There is a ticket for brixton remaining, as well.

New Order will be performing on the 19th, I reckon.

the festival site is a media/art center of several buildings and concrete( no grass or lawn in sight ) with various outdoor stages to be erected . as of today i am only assuming that on the 19th of december , a saturday,,New order will play very late or last, hopefully without other stages'/bands' noise encroaching. at coachella 2013 new order played between two stages of two other band's noise. bernard was kind in his disapproval , but the situation was inexcusable for a headliner at 11pm. i remember the young emotional sigur ros fans crying 2 hours earlier , as they could not hear their favorite band. houston is at times at its' best in the cool of late autumn for those with a desire to see new order in texas. . . l will try to determine the actual placement of the stage or time allotment. new order will likely play the maida vale set (plus a few more songs , hopefully ) . just as an aside ,perhaps flying to brixton in november for a better/longer show is a better idea ,or waiting until more cities are announced for 2016. Regardless, New Order are worth the extra expense , as who else in music is worthy of prompting travel , or has been for the last 15 years?

New Order at 9 pm to 11 pm Saturday dec 19th for 97 dollars , if one is not interested in a 2 day pass for 185 . Set list will probably be cries and whispers, denial, lonesome tonight, this time tonight, leave me alone, all night long, dream attack, special, close range , vicious steak, waiting for sirens , hellbent, sabotage, brutal, stray dog and California grass with Iggy, recoil, and after a break 8 more new ones , but not superheated and hatred, finishing with temptation , transmission, 12 minute version of draculas castle , and 4 th encore is everything is awesome from the Lego movie - can't wait

Well worth it if they play the Lionel Richie cover you've listed: A.N.L.

ok, even with the one day pass, it's still not convincing that its worth going to.. just to see them.

however, a couple of my friends like to see the festival and other bands, so they will probably go after all...

The Gingerman is a great beer bar in Houston that may be visited by neworder. The show is indoors within a sound studio, that may offer excellent sound - such as maida vale quality. There is so much greatness happening now with this fabulous band it is worth any sacrifice to bask in their supernova. And flying to brixton and staying at Peckham lodge is more expensive. Meanwhile I Hear interesting brief modified vocals in "the game" that are something common with early pink Floyd.

I rarely think of Lionel or his songs so what a shock to learn I have him writing neworder songs . However, if other stars dropped by neworder studios during future recording sessions, such as for the likely 50 or 70 or so more songs in the coming years, I would like Harriet Wheeler, Sarah Cracknell, Jessica Alba, Brian eno, mick Jagger, and Justin Hayward to drop by

The show last night was fantastic. Bernard apologized for taking so long to get back to Houston...said it was really hot the last time they played here (which was 1989).

The festival itself was very well done and in a great location that provided an amazing view of the downtown Houston skyline. I would be surprised if there wasn't another one next year.

Setlist was 17 songs with the one notable difference from recent gigs is that 586 replaced Lonesome Tonight.

Only bummer was the merch table didn't seem to have much stock and ran out of some NewOrder shirts/sizes a few hours before they took the stage.

Certainly hoping they return to TX in 2016!

Outdoors , in the 50's , half moon, best and most sophisticated and enjoyable aural and visual presentation ever in any genre, utterly brilliant, with sophistication , and great songs . The show needed to be filmed it was so brilliant

I have to add that Percussion master Steven amazes , as always, and off topic , Wall Street journal of 12- 19 reviews Bernard's book nicely, and lastly , to hear the sound of neworder loudly and clearly reaching to the night sky and the Stars is something the indoor shows cannot recreate. Bless those that chose to put on a festival in Houston when mosquitos and Heat are absent . It was like an outdoor show in Santa Barbara or any of the wonderful California amphitheaters. Great show!! Played a different version of WFTSC that Bernard said was the first time they'd performed it that way. More electronic sounding. Visuals for the show were amazing and enhanced the experience. Barney broke out the same western shirt and cowboy hat worn at the Austin show for Blue Monday. Very funny.

I got there really early and I was in the dead front on the railing ! Right in front of Bernard ! Only behind a few rows of VIPs ! it was my first new order gig and it was a dream come true! I befriended 3 die hard new order fans mark, Rey, and Adam.Afterwards they took me too my first dance club and they were exclusively playing only good 80's music! mark told the dj to play touched by the hand of God just for me! we lost our minds! Thank you TEGRO LOUNGE in Houston for a dream come true!

I was there December 19th ! Bernard had his black cowboy hat and awesome shirt! on the blue Monday encore he said " I thought I told you to leave me... As I walked down to the RANCH.." I started laughing . the gig was sooo good and I sang every song word for word and I just lost it . Thank you New Order I gave you everything I had that night!

Andy posted the Houston press review which is available and is quite good . The Houston chronicle review is not accessible , and briefly mentions new order , spends more space on others. Here is the pertinent first 3 paragraphs- the day for night music and art festival is about Houston now and in the future. But Saturday's headliner act was a welcome bit of nostalgia.
Fans braved a bit of chill to catch synth pop act new order, who hasn't played Houston in more than 2 decades. It is the group's only US show this year. The set ran the expanse of the band's catalog , from 1981's Ceremony to the new album MC, released in sept. It was a wall of looped beats and guitars. The crowd swelled to its biggest when NO took stage.
Then it mentions janelle monae , Caswell, and Amanda Lepore , and light installations ,, not another word about neworder.
