Hey I went to the gig in Wolverhampton on Tuesday. It was amazing! I lost my shit during Blue Monday...

But I was wondering does anyone have any information on the animations and films that accompanied the gig? I'm really interested in finding out more about them. If anyone could help me out I would be so grateful.

Cheers guys...

Just played my live footage of Singularity and noticed the words:

"Lust and sound in West Berlin 1979-89"

You will recognise the background video to this track straight away:

PS: The track listing for this film includes Joy Division's Komakino.

I noticed one of them was a compilation of clips from The Trip with Peter Fonda, the LSD-themed film of the sixties which I believe was banned in the UK for years. I can't remember which song it was used for, though. Maybe 'The Perfect Kiss'?

And of course, they used the music videos for 'Crystal' and 'Restless' as backdrops. And snippets of the video for 'True Faith.'

The Trip (just tracked it down) was used for the backdrop to Waiting For the Siren's Call.

Opened with the text:

"This picture represents a shocking commentary on a prevalent trend of our time and one that must be of great concern to all"

Haven't seen this movie but i reckon the clips are used for the live shows on Waiting For The Sirens' Call.Seem to recall the video playing during that looks like some old 60s LSD themed movie.

As for the film clips used for Singularity, strangely enough there was a thread on here or the old NOOL board a few years ago about that movie ( when it was in production maybe).Think it was that German lady Bere who started the thread

edit: it was actually Norbert (well i got the nationality right if not the gender) who started the thread 6 months ago here

edit: oops didnt see Get Ready's reply that already answered the other question

That's the film for Your Silent Face. There was some info on here a year or two ago about the making of that film. The clips are from a film called '(something) Earth', ah i can't remember the full name of it but i'm sure 'Earth' was in the title

Ah, thank you. I'd completely forgotten what song it was used for.

Yeah, I remember seeing that text and immediately assuming they were about to perform 'True Faith' because of the drug connotations. Imagine my surprise when they performed something else entirely.

Singularity......B Movie - made by Factory's man in Germany Mark Reeder, who is a close friend of the band, particularly Bernard. MR left in Manachester in 1978 for Berlin and has lived there ever since. The film only came out this year and has had just a few screenings in England, including one in Manchester the day after Music Complete came out. The band flew back from the interview they did with Arthur Baker in Hamburg and some of them, including Bernard, went to see the film that night which Mark Reeder was present at. After which they took him to......The Warehouse Project!!

The Trip....saw this at the BFI, last year I think, a very odd production about a guy who had everything...great job, cool house, trophy wife....and then gave it all up for a psychedelic trip!

The Earth Wins is in Australian made film and the makers are known to the band. As far as I know this has had just one UK screening, up in Cumbria, which Bernard went to. There's a trailer on You Tube but you'll see more of the film watching KW1 at the gig!

I would highly recommend 'B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West Berlin'. Fantastic film with a cracking soundtrack as well. Great to see the band using it on stage.

The video for The Perfect Kiss uses clips from this film:
