I'm impressed they were able to schedule a date so quickly. Clearly this was thrown together to offset the cost of the return trip to Chile.

The after party is 30 minutes away with a Smiths/Morrissey cover band performing? ugh.
Mancunian Denise Johnson reckons it's time Machester did this as well as Miami Beach:

In the 4 shows i've seen since 2012 this was definitely the best one. Adding Ceremony back in and taking out Sirens Call was a no-brainer. I think they sounded as clean as they have, and definitely seemed to enjoy being there. Stephen really raised the bar right away with his drumming on Singularity. Subculture was very cool to hear. I thought Atmosphere into Decades was a bit much together.
Finding out a few hours before the show that Arthur Baker was going to be there was a really nice treat.
The venue had some isses (running out of wristbands for GA?) but it turned out ok. The key to the city was odd but whatever, they really seemed to like that.
If its the last show I see i'm ok with that (but hopefully they keep going).
Glad you enjoyed it. I love the fact that they introduced long unheard songs into the set (Sub-Culture, Vanishing Point, Ultraviolence etc.). Still hoping EGG or Hurt get reintroduced at some point.
So did they get presented with the key before the gig? On stage?
And why was Arthur there? Did he do a DJ set before the gig or similar?

They got presented with the key before the set. I think the Vice Mayor tweeted it before showtime.
The band didn't have an opener so I guess a DJ seemed like a good idea and it happened to be Arthur. He did a DJ set that comprised of Confusion and Touched by the Hand of God and other stuff he's produced or mixed.
I think he's actually of resident of Miami or Miami Beach. I've seen him make an appearance or two at a few bars around there.
It was a great set. First time ever seeing New Order and I was completely floored. Every song was 100% except for Love Will Tear Us Apart. Bernard's guitar shitted out on him and he looked pretty frustrated.
Also, I don't know if it was just generic band banter, but Bernard said "we'll be back we promise" or something along those lines.
