What a depressing interview. 16 years on - a decision he made - a lawsuit later, and he still can't stop going on about it. If things are so good in Peter Hook and The Light, you wonder why he feels the need to bring up New Order every time he has a half decent platform
There’s a part of me that gives him a bit of grace, as I’m sure interviewers will deliberately push his buttons. After all, the dispute is sound-bite gold.
However, I’ve seen/heard many an interview where he just randomly mentions the split and how he hates Bernard etc. completely out of the blue.
At this point, he comes off as getting increasingly more bitter with each passing year.
It feels just like a failed marriage where the one partner just hates everything that the other one does, and the other party doesn’t care at all what the other is doing.
All these comments just tarnish the incredible legacy that he and the rest of the band built.
