Seb

Did you get my message addressed to the Webmaster? I was wondering whether it would be possible for NewOrderOnline.Com to produce a CD by downloading some of the tracks that are not otherwise available by purchasing through norma channel (ie shops etc. I was thinking of tracks like the Thieves Like Us (Stolen Mix), the 16 minute version of Elegia and some of the other 'rarities', megamixes etc

Also does anyone know if the Peel Sessions from '98 are likely to be released by the BBC?

Nope, I never got it. Sorry. I had several problems with my NewOrderOnline mail since we switched our server. Maybe that one got lost in cyberspace. :jump:

In any case, to answer your question, there is ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE that we will be making CDs with the material available on this website, or with any other material. The reasons for that are that:

  • We are already overwhelmed with work, we wish we had a life and we're not school kids anymore;
  • Been there, seen this, done that;
  • The audio and video material on this website, even though they are restricted to rare and out-of-print or are only for review purposes (30 seconds clips), are still COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL. The only reason why we can still put these online is because they are tolerated by the record companies so far because they do not harm their sales -- quite the contrary I would say. I feel that our website, and I will sound very pretentious by saying it, is one of the best promotional tools New Order have right now. It's all a "give and take" situation. Burning CDs with the content of this website and selling it would be crossing the line, as we would be making profit out of something that does not belong to us.
  • Everybody is free to burn CDs from the content of this website. We have no control over that. So you can ask someone to burn you one. The only restriction I see here is that we will condemn any "mass production" of anything coming out of the site and that brings profit to the author of this "mass production". If that would happen, the website might have to close.

I hope that answers your questions. :shy:

But Shugletto, I don't think Spikester is using the search engine. I think the cheeky little you know what actually went through every page, reading the old posts!

Strange, but true!
