looking through my mp3s i discovered this track, where is this NO track from? what is its story?

It's a single produced by the Chemical Brothers.It wasn't ready yet for Get Ready so they didn't include it on the album. Fantastic song really. This song was used on the soundtrack of 24 HPP movie.

Excellent song, which, if you watch the vid, is dedicated to Martin Hannett, Ian curtis, and rob gretton. Not as many guitars as the stuff on Get Ready, but it sounds good.

Too bad they couldn't have made a better video to dedicate to them three. Top-notch song, though. Listened to it not two minutes ago, matter of fact. Probably a better song than any of the ones on "Get Ready," although a few come close.

I played the wibbly synth near the end.

Great lyrics. Given their history and the turmoil they have endured, it has alot of meaning to me, perhaps I am reading too much into it. Nice to hear an upbeat song. Electronics a little past the beginning sound a little to close to Front 242 circa Mixed By Fear, but that is MHO.

Although, for a week or so, that "performance" of it on TOTP made me kind of ignore it.

Maybe the same reason why Player in the League wasn't there too

IIRC HTS was written especially for 24HPP and wasn't even finished until the day of the premiere.

The video didn't make much sense really, though watching it makes me want to go out and buy a super 16 camera and a shedload of fast black and white film stock

great shot at the end with john simm framed in that window pane. just pure luck the frame was so odd i would imagine (i.e. they saw that when they got on location)

The person who told you it was written for the film,deceived you m8 It was written in Get Ready days but The Chemical Brothers was so busy that coudn't finish their production in time.

gotta agree with the previous reply"were here to stay" no matter what happens. maybe it was the bands way of saying "we"ll be back-keep watching! the only pisser is that it didnt get higher in the charts! for me it is better than any track on get ready,apart from 60mph! One of my all time favourite songs, and one of the few songs which can actually make me wake up in a good mood. A rare gem indeed!

I also saw something a bit homoerotic about the video, but I think that fact just got overblown when a friend - who actually saw the video on American TV! - and I had a coversation about what the kid with the camera did with the pictures of John Simm/Bernard Sumner after he developed them. Kind of went down the path of a masturbatory fantasy. When I was 14, I, too, did use a 35mm camera - a manual one from 1985 - and followed people around, taking pictures and stuff. Of course, the pictures I developed have just sat in a folder or hung up on a wall, and none were of Bernard Sumner, although, in 2000, at the Smashing Pumpkins concert, I attempted to take a picture of Billy Corgan with a camera I snuck into the venue - the Electric Factory - but got it confiscated by the security guards. The picture probably would've turned out blurry anyway.

the TOTP footage is unreal. there is also a part in hooky's 'drum' solo, where he doesn't quite make it back to the bass in time---but we still hear the bass in the background.

is this a live NO trend?

A coworker and I were discussing how pissed the other guys in Nsync must be after Justin has become the "shiz-nit", as the young people like to say. He's out swapping spit with Cameron Diaz and on top of the charts, they're pulling minimum wage at the Waffle House. Pretty unfair, I'd say :D

Oh yes, and there's the little matter of getting to watch his ex make out with Madonna. Justin's right there in the theater, they're stuck trying to pick the reception in their gulag apartments :D :D
