Bought the new single from Hybrid (feat. Peter Hook) "True to form" on my lunch break today. Listened to it in my car on my drive home. The track starts a bit slow but really builds - nice and dramatic - reminds me a little of Doves. More importantly there is superb bit of vintage Hooky bass on here. The track ends brilliantly with his bass intertwined with what sounds like an orchestra string section. Only listened to it once so far - but very impressed.

What do other onliners think of it ?

Superb single, downloaded the album from WinMX. Just listening to True To Form as I type. Classic Hooky.

They're doing two more London 'live' dates next month - not sure if the Hookster will be there though?!

They're playing Turnmills on the 17th Oct and 93 Feet East on the 29th. Don't know anything about the 2nd venue but I'm a member of Turnies and it's rammed on Fridays and there's nowhere for a band to perform in there anyways so maybe that's just a mimed PA or something, and not the proper live shebang. It says it's live, and not a DJ, but I can't really see how it could be?

Hybrid have got a website HERE. Was thinking of just joining their mailing list to see if anyone knew about Hooky's appearances?

Yet one of the album’s strangest collaborations came about after Hybrid's manager met New Order's Peter Hook in Manchester last July where they both ranted about the merit of a good bass line in a dance track. "Non of these bloody dance remixers ever use my bass lines," argued Hook. "I put in all this time and effort and they use Bernard’s vocals but they don't bloody use my bass." The following week Hybrid sent over a couple of tracks and Hook rang back and agreed to play his "bloody bass" on 'True To Form' and 'High As A Skyscraper'.
