i just bought a spanish edition of UP on vinyl. it´s been manufactured by Iberofon S.A. and edited by Nuevos Medios S.A. there´s this number on the "Inside" label D.L. M-11889_85 and no other info is mentioned. the other pecualiarity is that the "Inside" label on the vinyl is on the actual "Outside" side and viceversa.

i thought the only spanish edition was this: Unknown Pleasures Edigsa 10L0106 1981 Spain

so, the question is.... is this the same Edigsa edition or is it another edition that is not listed on any discography that i know on the net?

maybe Budvar could answer this... Humberto?

The Joy Division releases were initially issued on Edigsa in Spain, Nuevos Medios picked up the licensing later and issued everything again. The same thing happened in France where there are also two issues of everything - with the exception of the LWTUA 7" single.

As you probably know, Pleasures, Closer & Still LP's were issued by Edigsa, along with LWTUA 7" & 12". Although it's difficult to find full details of what was pressed by Nuevos Medios, I know they pressed all three LP's, LWTUA 12" and the Atmosphere/ She's Lost Control 12". Never seen or heard of a Spanish Transmission single on either 7" or 12" - Anybody else?

Rest assured that, despite the insisence of the internet discographers, there are plenty of JD/ NO releases that remain uncatalogued from across the globe. Most issued in small quantities and then lost forever. For instance, has anyone else ever seen a Portuguese 'Atmosphere' 12" ?

thanks, man!

so now the question is: if the Edigsa edition is from 1981, when was edited by Nuevos Medios? there´s no info about it on either sleeve, inner sleeve or vinyl.
