I have this an all, tis indeed an excellent track, do you also have the Good Together 12" featuring messrs Sumner and Ryder on backing vocals? again, another great track, I picked both these 12" records up from a local market stall £5 for both, as soon as the trader seen me, he'd always dig up JD/NO factory stuff, I also have an obscure Quando Quango 12" Love Tempo, dunno whether the Barnster had anything to do with that do you?

Actually, I revisted Up In Downsville yesterday and I think I might've jumped the gun somewhat. It's not great, but it's not that bad. Change the Station was the one I was thinking of - real stinker. UID's got Tekno 4 An Answer, Manik and Wonder Y, which are okay (just okay, mind) ACR tracks. Change the Station though, that didn't have a single track I even half-way liked. It's unfair to compare the two - one was poor, but the other one was just absymal.

Just had some literature thru' from Fabric - seems ACR are playing there live on October 24th.

Nothing at acrmcr.com as yet though.

Yeah, I sent urbanite a mail too. Nothing back either (they're usually good at responding). Fabric seem to think they've defo got 'em on so I've bought tickets anyways.

They're probably better live now then they ever were, just cos their sets now span their entire 25-odd year history, as opposed to just focusing what was 'in vogue' when they gigged before. Sort of a greatest hits set, if you like. Saw 'em three times last year and they also did each gig in chronological order, going from Do the Du and the Fox thru Wild Party and Sounds Like, right up to Good Together and WSLY.

Obviously, they were still encoring with Si Firmi O Grido though!!

Nothing from Urbanite. Nothing from Hung, Drawn and Quartered (the event tonight) either but then someone on the Factory List posted that they'e been in touch with a promoter and it was a DJset only. Quite why Moscrop (presumably?) is labouring under the name A Certain Ratio for just DJ sets though is beyond me. Still, Fabric on the 24th does clarify that they're 'live'. Can't wait.

It really is a nice track. I just listened to the full 4:44 minutes and I don't notice any tempo change..

I've not listened to this in ages, but the tempo shift happens a LOT further into the track than 4mins44secs, so I guess you've just got an edited version?

Wild Party's always been a classic of theirs, and I've seen the newer Starlight live a couple of times. It's nothing special, but is a decent enough vehicle for Denise Johnson's talents. Not heard Busy Man, but keep meaning to download it from the website, where I think it's available? Is it one of their own compositions, or them covering Fila Brazilia?

Admittedly some of ACR's output would sit very much at home in the CD collections of Sade-loving accountants from Surrey, but I'm not sure that makes the band themselves 'middle class', per se.
