Hey does anyone know of any website that has compiled a good amount New Order interviews? I've been searching for some interviews online, but there aren't that many.

I remember finding the Hooky interview in New Zealand from (I guess) December 82, but no longer have any idea where I found it. If anyone can post the link that would be ggreat, it's classic Hooky.
That Hooky interview from 1982 is at http://www.new-order.net/no/audio/ along with some other audio interviews. -John
ok, this cut n paste job was done from the link provided in the previous post. found under "singles reviews", this has to be posted to humiliate the fool who wrote this...
Sounds 15/5/82 Temptaion
The strongest post-punk bands are rapidly becoming the new hippies, and
New Order are leading the pack. They wrap themselves up in so much
petty enigma that they sicken me, because they are not doing it for any
reason. It is just their sense of the 'artistic' that makes them
package their product in barely comprehensible artiness, even though
this (so called) art is second hand, second rate Grammar School
fascination.
'Temptation' shows New Order stepping back into the Joy Division
shadow, a pointless direction to follow. For if JD did actually achieve
anything - which is doubtful - then New Order should try to follow that
up. But they don't! They still cocoon themselves with IDEALS! ETHICS!
STRUCTURALISM! RUBBISH!
New Order are just the same as ABC, except they are aiming for a
different market. New Order are for students, for people who think they
are being 'different' and 'rebellious' before they settle down into
their jobs as stockbrokers, or lawyers, or members of Echo And The
Bunnymen.

chris burkham, take a bow!!
Hooky from 86 commenting on Encores and set-lists:
..."We never know what's going on with our sets, so we make loads of cock-ups. But I hate the way some bands just play the same set every night till it's preposterous. And I hate encores. The point escapes me. It's like - when you have an orgasm, you don't just go straight back, do you? You savour it. You relax after, you don't just go - wooh, right, right... well I suppose some people do. But we'll leave the road crew out of this."

this is awesome...i'm happy that link was posted, these articles are great. This is Bernard from the same interview as above in 86.
the interviewer asks Barney about his plans for the evening:
...So you're all going back to The Hacienda later? "Yeah." What will you do there? "Get blind drunk." Why? "Cos my life's so f***in' awful." So will you dance? Y'know, boogie? "Nah." Why not? "Cos everyone takes the piss."
ok, now i feel bad that i ever said anything bad about the "BARN DANCE"...my apologies. who knew he was so sensitive.
Oh cool, thanks everyone for the links. After seeing interview/article archive sites for the smiths and the cure, I knew there had to be one for new order. Still it'd be cool to put up a site archiving all this stuff, much like how it's done at the theonering.net where scans of the actual interviews/articles are posted. If anyone can provide material, I'd be more than willing to start one.
Bernard on EVERY LITTLE COUNTS
I remind him of my favourite New Order lines. On "Every Little Counts", the closing
song of "Brotherhood", when he sings, "Every second counts when I am with you/I
think you are a pig, you should be in a zoo". When he stutters through the second
line before breaking into a snigger which threatens to besiege the entire song. In
some ways, I suggest, it is New Order's most emotional moment.
"Before 'Brotherhood' came out," he recalls, "our American manager came over to
listen to some tracks. He wanted to know if we had any lyrics finished. Well we
always leave the lyrics until last. I always sit there in the studio annoyed at
having to do it. It's always such a chore. I'll just sit there completely bored
until a line comes into my head or I get a picture of some scenario. It gets to the
last week of the last month in the studio and everyone's saying, 'Ahem, have you
started any lyrics yet?' I've never got any.
"So the American manager came over and the only track that was finished was 'Every
Little Counts'. He wanted a cassette to take back to the president of Warners in
America. So we played him the song and he goes, 'Well... ahem... that is great...
but when are you going to do the proper vocals?' We said, 'Well, that is the
finished vocal!' So he had to go back and play that to everyone. We could just
imagine their faces in the boardrooms!
ok, last post here....sorry but these articles are priceless.
Some crackers there Bri![]()
I printed about 500 pages worth of New Order interviews from loads of different sites when I first started using the net, about 3 and a half years ago, there were loads on the Temptation site, and water rats and substance abuse and various others.
I found some cracking pieces about Joy Division, but even more stuff on the Order, mainly from Sounds, Rolling Stone, Melody Maker, NME, Record Mirror.....even Smash Hits![]()
I tried searching for NewOrder interviews on Yahoo etc... but it brings up loads of weird shite. Best thing to do is search for New Order Music, then work yer way through sites links, it takes ages, but it's worth it![]()
