Has anyone checked out Karl Barto's new LP? It has got some touches of Electronic and after a few listens it is pretty damned good. For information purposes Mr Barto's is playing in Glasgow, Manchester & London in two weeks time - check his web site for details. It'd be interesting to hear what you New Orderers think about this LP from the former member of Kraftwerk.

Does your e-mail really exist?

Marcus, he doesn't sound like electronic, he sounds like himself. RTP contained a number of tracks left over from the 93 album Esparanto that were re-mixed and barney-fied.

the track 'life' from the clip is very esperato-era.

mind you from the sound of most of these clips, forget ralph & florian, this is the real KW sound :)

Nup, couldn't find anything on his web site and it will probably never get released here.

they are there at karlbartos.com. when you see a bunch of icons with 'english' and 'deutsch' underneath, the icons are the clips, click them.

Esperanto is one of my favourite albums.

The standouts track are the Andy McCluskey co-written ones. And it's excellently produced.

If you like Kraftwerk then you should definitely check it out.

Did you hear 15 Minutes Of Fame, the (first?) single. It's Blue Monday recycled.

The Elektric Music album? Blimey, that takes me back. Indeed, a quality album, and filled the Kraftwerk void wonderfully. Did Elektric Music ever do anything beyond that?

Bartos released another album as Electric Music. I don't own this one but I was told it isn't worth the money. I agree with everybody's comments on "Esperanto", this is a fantastic album, any Kraftwerk fan should check this out.

apparantly the Electric Music album was Bartos *actually* being influnced by Electronic and was more guitar-y and rock-y. the general concsencus is that it was no good.

i only hear the single 'young urban professional' and yup, it sucked arse.

Esparanto though is very good, though the second half does seem to have dated a little these days. the 4th track though (sorry no name to hand) is the pinnacle of the technique of sampling small sections of speech sounds and mixing them up.

nerdy point: I used to own a Roland JP-8080 and there were 3 or 4 sounds on there called 'Kling Klang x' which were good ripoffs of KW sounds

Sorry, I'm very much in the dark here - what's this Esperanto business? Is it an act or the name of an LP - excuse my ignorance..and where could I get it?

Talking of Kraftwerk - I was quite impressed with Tour De France but having listened to Communication by Herr Bartos - I feel he has surpassed his old musical collaborators

I do like Esperanto myself. I used to like singing along the song "TV" quite a lot!!!

I like to think that this is what Kraftwerk would have done at the time if they had still been working.
