Yes and No, though I don't know what they decided the words were. It was certainly never played live.
Good point that about songs that they never played live. The beauty about New Order was that they nearly played every song live at sometime. Tim is again correct Ecstasy was not played live...but what other tracks were recorded and never played live??

Half of Republic, thankfully :) Sputnik was partially played live, as part of IALP at Perth 87. Salvation Theme. Too Late. Turn The Heater On. Half of Get Ready.

It's one of those things that I've wondered about - maybe they never played it live because no one was in a legal state of mind when then recorded it and now now can remember how they did it?

I think they don't like instrumentals other than Elegia to be played live...
From Spot's list, I think the greatest shame is that 'Primitive Notion' has never gotten a live outing. Shame it wasn't a single in the first place (even John Peel played it twice when 'Get Ready' came out), but it would've been cracking live.

It may get a rendition yet, look at Guilty Partner after all, a nine year gap between that being released and finally unleashed on a live audience (and we all know why, having heard it !!)
Yeah, everyone goes on about how funny it was when they cocked it up at Manc in '98; what was even funnier (or not, depending on your p-o-v) was that when they got it "right" it still sounded like sewage.....

Just one of these songs that wasn't destined for live status. It probably didn't help them that they changed the arrangement so that it began with Barney having to synchronise playing and singing at the same time - had it opened with a bassline, as on the record, it might have stood a chance. I'm still amazed that they managed to play Weirdo so many times with only one or two recorded disaster openings !!

They used to play Let's Go purely as an instrumental... and a great one it was, too!

Temptation (as Taboo #7) Hurt (technically this was "Cramp" I suppose) ICB (on debut, sounded like an instrumental of Dead Souls) EGG (at least once)
Blue Monday never was - Mark Johnson was of course wrong, neither was BLT at Hemel (definitely an attempt at lyrics).

I think Blue Monday was played without lyrics in Melbourne 1982.Anarchy in Uk at Denver 1987 (If covers are included!!)However I am digging the gey matter to remember so dont crucify me if I am wrong!!

BLue Monday definitely had lyrics at both Melbourne 82 shows. Anarchy in the UK at Denver was only a bit of the riff at the end of Sister Ray, rather than a whole song, and was sung by a roadie at Berkeley ! Don't think you can count soundchecks :)

I wouldn't venture to say there are "lyrics". It just sounds like the title repeated and then manipulated. The indecipherable bits are probably just the usual comments regarding Barney's penis.
Question: Has anyone entertained the thought of the voice being someone other than Barney?

Good effort. I've always been intrigued to know what the "lyrics" were. I thought it went "washed away", but I think you are right. Then again, when I was 10 or so I thought the lyric to Roxanne (Police) "Don't put on the red light" was "Don't doodle the radiator". Hey I was only 10 after all. 
I think you'll find the first line is
"I've lost my HEAD..... lost my HEAD...... lost my HEAD....."
He IS singing about taking Ecstasy after all.

I agree. Its quite clearly "Lost My Head". And near the end it sounds like "We're all dying". Followed by "too" repeatedly.
