Question for New Order: Why did London Records not release the album on CD and Vinyl at the same time, thus making many fans wait over a month to get the latter format, thus costing the LP's initial first week's sales and chart position in the process?

Question for New Order: London Records have also delayed the release of "60 mph" by three or four weeks. What's their excuse this time? Are they intent on pissing off die-hard New Order fans?

Question for New Order: You have been including a fair amount of older stuff in your sets (Your Silent Face etc.) Is there any chance you might consider doing more PC+L material, like The Village or Leave Me Alone, or something like Run or Face Up when you come to Australia?

Question for New Order: Barney, you sound like you are a bit sick of performing Blue Monday live these days. Do you feel like you're obliged to use it as an encore in every set?

Question for Stephen Morris: Joy Division is known as a "post-punk" band, but in many of their songs your drumming feels like an amazingly danceable disco - for example, Insight, Dead Souls, Incubation. It's like you're looking for people to groove, and this adds a dimension to the music that is totally unexpected and totally exciting. Was all of that your own design? Did anyone inspire you to do it, or strongly influence you?

Sebastien, just thought I'd supply two alternative questions:

1. To the band: Surely "Get Ready" could have included more songs on the finished album than just a measly ten - if only to make up for the huge yawning lack of New Order material for so long? Why couldn't it have a been a 12- or 13-track (double) album instead?

2. To the band: Will there be such a long wait for further new releases (LPs / singles) seeing as the band are now rejuvenated and apparently fired up with lots of new ideas?

In interviews you always emphasize, that you only do the things that you want to do. But why do you still have "Blue Monday", "Temptation" or even (an updated) "True Faith" in your set that you're obviously sick of playing live ??? Is there a pressure that you have to present a best-of New Order ??? To me a best-of NewOrder also includes stuff like "Dream Attack", "Thieves Like Us", "1963", just to name a view. And why did you do a pre-listening session of "Get Ready" ??? Was it a testing, which songs should be on the album or not ??? Any hidden meaning behind the "job" doing support for Robbie Williams ??? Things like these seem to me like a brutal contradiction to your "independency" from the business that you're so often talking about!

Hooky - Your bass playing is now widely renown and integral to NO's sound, but have you ever felt its been overshadowed by NewOrders reliance on modern synths and technology?

Barney - many of your lyrics are on the subject of bitter sweet relationships, if you had to pick just one (NO/Electronic)to summise the feelings in a love torn break up what would it be ?

Steven - what musical instrument would you most like to run over with your tanks ?? !!

All - Do you feel your side projects have had any bearing on the GetReady album and if so how have they influenced it? ie: musicalal direction,lyrics,technology

Peter Saville is a major part of the image of New Order what is your favourite sleeve and have you ever really hated any of them?

Hooky - At the M.E.N arena gig in 1998 why didn't you give me your bass guitar? You definetly heard me shout for it!

Steve - Are you ever tempted to program the entire drum sequences from all the songs so you can have a bit of a rest mid-tour?

Barney - Which song that you have wrote are you most proud of?

Would you agree that your best albums to date go in roughly this order P.C.L.Technique,Lowlife,Movement,Getready,Brotherhood,Republic,with the first two vying for superiority, Lowlife though brilliant not quite up there.If so do you see yourselves bettering these two bodies of work in the future.

To New Order (specifically Peter and Barney): Considering the emergance of side projects, is there ever any "my side group's better than yours"? If so, who usually wins?

To Barney: How do you think the band would be different if you had brought in another singer after Ian's death, and did you jockey for the lead singer spot yourself or was it just a case of drawing the shortest straw?

Hooky: What bands do you think specifically ripped off your bass style in order to get famous?

Steve: You commented in Sleaze Nation's interview that musicians are expected to shrivel up after a certain age, whereas actors et al can continue on. With that in mind, how many years do you feel New Order has left? Do you see the group playing in their wheelchairs when they're 80?

Again, to New Order: Was the mysterious figure in the doorway of the Perfect Kiss video supposed to be Ian? If so, was that your idea or Jonathan Demme's?

To Barney: Do you write 100% of the lyrics to all of the songs? And, it seems as if all of your songs follow the same pattern: verse, chorus, verse, chorus, instrumental, then chorus. I know I'd love to hear more verses in your songs, like you used to with "Thieves Like Us", "Love Vigalantes" and "True Faith"...

To the band: after Ian's death, New Order's style changed quickly from post-punk music to dance music. It is evident if one simply considers the evolution from Ceremony to Confusion. Do you think it would have been the same if Ian Curtis had been alive? Would Joy Division have followed the same direction? To Barney: When Ian was alive, he wrote all the lyrics. Did you ever feel frustrated about this? Could you imagine being in this band and not writing the lyrics? Same question regarding singing? To the band: Do you think your side projects would exist if Ian was still alive? Can you imagine what kind of side project himself could have created, and with whom? To Hookey: Would you like to be New Order's singer (part-time or full-time)? To Steven: Do you prefer playing the drums or programming drum machines? To the band: Get Ready really rocks, compared to Republic. Is this the result of a conscious decision (and in this case, who decided to make it sound that hard?), or did it come naturally and unexpectedly? To the band: Have you got any plan regarding the next album (recording date, existing material, choice of a producer, guest musicians, musical style)? To the band: Is there anything you regret about Get Ready? Two months after it's been released, would you change something in it if you could? To the band: What is your favourite New Order record?
