Last night I saw a tribute band to Joy Divison called Unknown Pleasures play a gig in my home town of Crewe. I have never heard of a tribute to JD or NO so I had to check them out. They were really good and I hope they play again soon. They were not look a likes but they had the sound down to a tee. Has anyone else heard of this tribute and if so what do you reckon. Also, there was a bloke who looked the spit of Barney watching, my girlfreind bollocked me for starring at him, but he was so like him, plus the fact Barney lives in Cheshire I think made me think, surley not!!

It was amazing - your lad got the whole image right, even down to the height! :evil4:

Young Offender, I take it you are in the band, if so which instrument did you play or were you the excellent Mr Curtis? The Limelight is a cracking venue, but my only complaint is that they seem to favour more heavy metal/prog rock type tributes. I really hope you do play again and I'm sure next time you will have an excellent turn out as Crewe is a big Joy Divison/New Order town, I know a lot of people who only found out about Sundays gig at the last minute and could'nt make it, but they will be there next time. As for the Barney look a like, if it was'nt the man himself then there is a bloke out there who must be a massive Bernrad Sumner fan, this guy had the hair, he was the same height and build (Barney is'nt a big bloke I think, 5ft 8ish?) and wore clothes you would expect Mr S to wear, I would be worried if I was barney as he has a double, unless it was him!!!

When's the last time you saw Barney, Lee? He hasn't looked like that for 20 years! We saw UP in London 2 weeks ago and the lad had a white shirt, thin black tie and the exact same look Barney had in JD. Not anything how he's looked since 1980!

Sorry lads, might not have explained my Barney look a like to clearly. I was on about a bloke in the audiance, not the lad in Unkown pleasures who did look like a Warsaw/JD Barney. The bloke I saw was certainly in his 40's and the clothes he wore were very similar to the last few pics I have seen of Mr S. Lads, I do know that Barney his now in his late 40's!!!

Imagine how surreal that would be, the real-life Barney attending a tribute show to his bands. Something tells me this is "too good to be true", but when have I ever been right about anything? :D

I used to want to form a Who tribute band, but couldn't because I have no musical talent whatsoever

Theres seems to have been a misunderstanding here, I was regarding to the guy Lee saw in the audience in crewe, not to my self the guitarist of Unknown Pleasures, well i hope i dont look in my 40's.:D

It would be surreal but you could understand Barney going to watch a JD tribute band as there has been no others to my knowledge in the past. So being at a local venue for him, Who Knows?
