Hadn't seen this posted yet, sorry if I missed it. The folks at Rhino have just released here in the US a 4-disc box of classic punk era singles and tracks ( I know, not all tracks will be classics to everybody ;) )

It's called No Thanks!, and the two JD tracks are Warsaw (credited to JD) and LWTUA as the finale of the package.

There's already some quibbling over the track listing, and the fact that there are no Pistols songs on it, but overall it looks like a pretty decent attempt at providing just a bit of insight.

No thanks? Not so fast...

I read about this in EW, love the fact that it includes some classic Modern Lovers tracks (maybe now everyone will see why I rave about Jonathan Richman, hmm?). Between this and the Python autobio, I might have a decent Christmas. :D

There's also a (keep your fingers crossed) planned release of Kids in The Hall's first season on DVD. I'll start an entirely new thread on that with a link, however

Bought this today, Tabsy, and it is indeed a great purchase. At the very least, I don't have to drag out a large amount of vinyl every time I want to hear many of those songs. :thumb:

It's got a well written 112 page booklet from some of the guys who started Trouser Press, so that's another bonus, plus there's an apology from the compiler about the lack of the Pistols.

Lots of great photos as well, the Joy Division one is a live shot from Jill Furmanovsky which I hadn't seen before, catching Ian in mid-dance, and one of Shane MacGowan dancing front stage at a Clash gig.

Hope you get this for Christmas, guess this means you'll have to be good for awhile, right :skeptic:
