Strange, strange.
You would have thought if anywhere in the world would welcome a Joy Division Tribute band with open arms woud be the place they was spawned, Macclesfield, Chesire. I wont name the venue.
But no, not a slight interest.

Stephen, I think I know the venue you are on about, pretty weird considering the people rumored to be business partners in this venue. As you know, you are always welcome in Crewe, the music capital of Chehire!

The guy i spoke to did happen to mention that two of the original band members were regulars or something, he may have said partners but i was not really listening. I was pretty shocked of the dismissal of having a tribute band to "The" best thing to ever come out of Macclesfield. 
Steven (spelt ya name correct!) I think its fair to say JD are the only thing to come out of Macclesfield. The venue in question usually mirrors whats recently been on at the Crewe Limelight. They advertise gigs in the music press, NME etc and I would have thought it would have made perfect sense to have the countrys only known JD tribute play. Surley they would have got a good crowd, all the locals and plus the fact Macc is close to Manchester, Stockport and other hardcore JD?No citys would make perfect sense. Oh well, there loss.
I agree Lee, Its there loss. Im sure we'll find a venue in Macclesfield that would love to have us play there.

Perhaps you could play Macclesfield lesiure centre, New Order did in 1986 I think. Speaking of New Order, is your band 100% JD or will any JD penned songs that were performed and released as New Order filter through to your set list, Ceromony, In A Lonely Place etc?
Ceremony is in the pipeline for sure. i myself dont actually know much of New Orders material as i have only recently discovered JD, but i will make a point in the future of listening to some New Order albums.:)
Does the leisure centre have a Website?
Not sure if the leisure centre has a web site mate. When will you be next playing in the North West?
Could you sell coal in Newcastle ? It must be nigh on impossible to break Macclesfield as a JD tribute act, Macc only does denim jackets and long hair (still !!). I need to talk to you Steven about gigs, actually. Mail me please.

And as Tim says - would they sell anyway? Has anyone met a New Order fan from Macclesfield? I haven't, albeit 1645hrs did live there temporarily. You'll draw a much bigger crowd at the Dublin Castle anyways. Camden's still painfully full of wannabe Goffs. "Dressed in black, picking their fookin' noses" as one Bernard Sumner might put it.
I think you'd actually have to be quite good to be allowed to play there, and from what I saw at the Hope and Anchor, you may need to learn the songs properly first.

Not far wide off the mark!!! One of the wierdest experiences of my entire life was seeing Arthur Lee play in Crewe not so long ago.

I also remember that the NME once tried to pass the Charlatans off as "a Crewe band". To be honest, I'm quite fond of the old place....if it wasn't for the smug, jumped-up trainspotters that support the local football club I'd like it a lot more!
i wouldnt bother with macc leisure centre...its just a big badminton hall. i would guestimate a safe capacity would be about 1500..when the order played there you could put about another 500 on that. i remember when they opened the doors there were a couple of old dears trying to collect tickets..i think quite a few punters got in for free that night..hence squeezing the life out of said badminton hall.
