It sure must be Blue Monday...
By who though?
Slight chance the band did it themselves by doing Blue Monday 88 though ![]()
The most famous one is Frente did the Bizarre Love Triangle in 1994. But It got to be someone did a NO cover version before that.
Hi folks...
...GRACE JONES did 'She's Lost Control' in 1980. I got a 7' from the austrian band CHUZPE, they did a fantastic version of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' which was also released in 1980, so who was really the first one ?...![]()
Greetz, Floyd Anderson.

Galaxie 500 covered Ceremony in 1990, but The Oyster Band got in before with Love Vigilantes in 89. Not sure of any before that...
My band at the time did 586, Angel Dust and Blue Monday at a gig in late 1987, coupled with Isolation. Very ropey tape exists !
I remember hearing a tape of a very ropey band from Germany doing Blue Monday in summer of 83. They just played it like the original but the singer![]()

It was probably Falco, during his "Hey, Remember Me?" '83 tour :D
I have a 7" single of Aussie group EVEN AS WE SPEAK's 'Suburban Blue Skies' with the flip side of 'BLT' - kinda acoustic feel to the song. I bought this when it was released in the 80's...I think its 1987 or 1988...

Are you sure? I thought this was released circa 1999-2000... ![]()
Plus, who would cover BLT the year of its release?

YUP...definitely in the 80's as I was still in university then....in fact, I know this single was released around SUBSTANCE time and I bought it out of curiosity wanting to listen to the flip side.
I managed to dig up this 7" inch just now but unfortunately there's no dates on the sleeve or vinyl...but it was released on BIG HOME PRODUCTIONS label Cat No. BHP 995, MX 300164...the title track is 'Blue Suburban Skies'.......btw, I heard that this band, EVEN AS WE SPEAK, has a cult following in USA....but they are practically unknown in Australia....![]()
