For some reason Round and Round pops into my mind right away.

Hurt, or Shellshock, or Temptation82. but on this last one i really enjoy the dated sound.

NO sounds dated? :jawdrop: But, seriously, a lot of their dated songs (Shellshock, R&R, Mr. Disco, TBTHOG) are my favorites. The original version of Confusion does sound a bit dated, although it seems to hold up for a myriad of decent remixes.

Confusion - just can't get the visuals and fashion of that nightclub in the vid out of my head when listening to it

The original Temptation does sound outdated, the 87 version doesn't in my head...

But that's the thing with New Order, nothing really sounds outdated.. or I'm too much of a fan to move on :D

(Stop living in the 80s man!!!)

Cries & whispers always sounds dated for me, and so does Mesh

Most of Technique sounds dated to me, sadly. In fact, the only thing that saves songs from sounding dated is the regularity in which they get played. Low Life sounded dated a few months ago, but copying gigs from that era has reintroduced the songs to me. If I had to pick one song that hasn't survived as well as the others, I would plump for Touched By The Hand of God though (even if this is down to the newer different sequencer pattern it churns out live).

Fine Time :D

Blue monday and Confusion are the only ones that sound dated to me all the rest are timeless.

Strangely (or perhaps not), all of the Arthur Baker ones. Confusion, Thieves like us and Touched by the hand of God.

Everything except the GET READY stuff sounds dated to me. Doesn't mean i don't love the songs, just sounds very dated. Every track. Not one single song pre-Get Ready sounds as if it were done in the last 10 years.

Probably something like EGG, from their early days (that doesn't mean I still don't love it)

Then there are the ostenible "rap" tracks World in Motion and the one off Republic (can't remember the name right now, you know which one I'm talking about)

Confusion. Those original mixes are forever trapped in 1983.

Confusion it is

State Of The Nation and Everything's Gone Green. And Procession. But I happen to love all three of these tracks (probably the only SOTN fan alive, but still)...

The Emulator II Orchestra Hit on "Touched by the Hand of God" is a better indicator of age than radiocarbon dating.

I'll say it.

"World In Motion" because it almost sounded like England had a chance. Since then, of course...

Christ, surely EVERYTHING sounds dated to you, given your age?!

If Confusion, TBHOG, etc, sound 'dated' then can someone please tell me what sounds 'modern'??????

Is sounding dated or sounding as being from a particular point in time a BAD THING?. sure cofusion sounds as if it is an early 80s track but so what  It was one of the better tunes from that year anyway.

Has to be Shellshock. I only like the longer version with that good intro turned up really loud with a tonne of bass.

IALP sounds horribly dated to me

Procession sounds really dated these days to me.

Most New Order songs sound pretty dated, but that is a good thing; do we want New Order to sound like the shit that is on the radio today?

Confusion (original mix) I think. But stills sounds great and in my car right now.

shellshocked (the substance version, lowlife version is alright), state of the nation, and TBHOG. the first two turned me off of new order for a good 5 years. i liked TBHOG cuz of its dated sound, it was a fun 80s cheesy song.
