I wonder how many years more, New Order will play together. Do you think they could become The "Pink Floyd", of the Pop World, or even with the very good relationship between them, this could last for one or two years more?

It would be nice to think another 5 years at least, when you cosider Dylan and the Stones have been at it forever, my only hope is they don't end up as sad looking as the two of them :D
Hope they don't become like Pink Floyd as David Gilmour said in Tuesday's Evening Standard (London) that he doesn't think there'll be any more Floyd records.
There's probably a few years in the old dogs yet and as long as they keep doing decent stuff who cares how old they get! 
I personally think now would be the best time to bow out. An above average album, some memorable live shows and lots of great memories. Speaking to non-enthusiasts it's clear that the band are only really relevant now to their long standing fans. Age hasn't been kind and to be honest the aura of cool which always surrounded them is fading as a consequence of this. Barney's dancing is positively emabarrasing (see Jools Holland Show TOTP) Time gentlemen please!
I think the best time to bow out would've been 1989. But now they've gone beyond that, and what with the recent live stuff, I've got the bug again. Give it a couple more years yet.

Dunno about that, my wee brother's 14 and he likes Oasis and the Stereophonics, but after seeing Barney's dancing and hearing Crystal, he's started borrowing my CD's while I'm at work :)

You didn't go to Dublin 93, did you? I remember a Celtic fan fropm Corby (always cracks me up how you lot were born in England but have Scottish accents) who travelled over with his Mrs on a coach run by London Calling (I think?).
I think they should do 1 or 2 more albums, a knockout UK tour with some money spent on it for a change and bow out just as they are declared gods of music.

They will keep playing, until I say "Stop". By then my band will be ready to take over the melancholic disco rock mantle. This will probably be around the time of our debut EP 'Here are the Middle-Aged men'.

It wasn't me Allen, but it would have been my Uncle John, he was over with his girlfriend Lorraine, Corby is known as little Scotland because all the scots came down to the steelworks to get jobs.
I really hope that they keep together for many years long. 1989 really should be the year that they became so famous as U2. Many friends of mine like New Order because me. They even bought "The Best of New Order" album. Although, they just listen to 3 or 4 songs (True Faith, Regret, Bizarre Love Triangle and Round & Round). "That's the price that we all pay" for being alternative and independant. Massive atack on media should put New Order on top of the pop stars in the late 80's. Anyway, I like them very much and maybe that's because they are not so easy viewed on TV or anywhere. PS: Think about that: Most of people cannot even listen to Hook's bass in the songs and worse, if you show them they don't believe it's a bass. Sorry about my English!
