Ever since I joined this board (not long ago) I've been working on a continuously mixed compilation of New Order and Electronic dance tunes. I chose the songs based on a few things

  1. Dance as opposed to rock--programmed drum track
  2. Good melody
  3. Good singing

I have been working on it off and on, mostly off. I finally finished normalizing the tracks, running off a copy, and printing the artwork which includes printing onto the tops of the cds with my Epson 900 printer.

I just thought I would share with you what I've been working on. Here is the track list.

Disc 1 New Order - Regret New Order - Vanishing Point New Order - Mr Disco Electronic - Dark Angel Electronic - Until the End of Time Electronic - If You've Got Love Electronic - Twisted Tenderness New Order - Round & Round Revenge - Pinapple Face Electronic -Reality Electronic - Disappointed New Order - 1963 New Order - Perfect Kiss

Disc Two Electronic - Some Distant Memory New Order - Shellshock New Order - All Day Long New Order - Thieves Like Us New Order - Your Silent Face New Order - True Faith New Order - Vicious Streak Electronic - Getting Away with It New Order - World New Order - Blue Monday New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle New Order - World in Motion

Interesting. Somthing like this has been in the back of my mind for a long time, but it has never materialized.

If I remember correctly, TLU is somewhere around 113 bpm, right? The going to Blue Monday's 130 in five tracks is a pretty steep increase. Does it sound good?

It's pretty good, although I'd probably take off Regret, 1963, and Pineapple face and replace them with Touched by the hand of god or This time of night, Subculture, and Feel Every Beat.

I used the Fire Island mix of Regret. Sorry to all the New Order purists.

Feel Every Beat is a great idea, but probably better for my Manchester 89-92 mix because of the tempo and overall style of the song.

Subculture is a good suggestion.

TVL, TLU goes very well with Your Silent Face, and then the tempo builds up.

Actually, if you're making a dance mix tape, the Fire island mix of Regret is a good idea, although I think the song overall is just bland.

 Good suggestions here, think I might make this one up :thumb:

Edit: Replace "Dream Attack" for "Round & Round," the best song off Technique.
