No Love Lost? I assume you're assuming that No Love Lost was a Warsaw song, in which case I would wager to say Novelty is a better one than No Love Lost.

It's a Warsaw song and my opinion :nonono:

There's a cover of "Leave me Alone" by some alt.country (yuch) types (Chappaquidick Skyline rings a bell) which is surprisingly good.

Otherwise, why bother? You're not going to touch the originals. Agree that NO's JD versions are worthwhile though.

... That's not to say the Community versions aren't excellent though!:thumb:

(No offence meant.)

But do you prefer the Ideal version with the "House of Dolls" quote or the other versions with the mirrors verse?

Ideal is the ideal :evil4:

Seriously?

I like the Perfect Kiss cover by International quite a bit. Shellshock by The Arrogants is a reintrepretation that helps you appreciate the much-maligned original. But the best? PJ Proby's LWTUA, of course. 10k Maniacs come in second. Check these out:

I like a lot the covers of "Heart and soul" done by Kendra Smith and "Love will tear us apart" done by Stanton-Miranda (both on "END - a means to an end - the music of Joy Division" by Hut recordings in 1995)and finally "Atrocity Exhibition" (transfomed from the original into an acoustical one) done by an italian band called Subterannean Dining Rooms in 1990 for a CD of covers all done by italian bands!!

I think you meant this : Something About Joy Division – Italian Tribute to Joy Division.

Very nice stuff really :thumb:

You certainly haven't heard many Joy Division covers to pick this one.

Keep calling Dead Soul

Where can I hear your covers ? Don't tell me that's in UK cause I live a bit far away from there.

Just listened to Shadowplay ;)

Radiohead never covered "Decades", it's a bogus MP3 that pops up on various P2P networks. This cover is actually played by Theatre Of Tragedy and it can be found on "Balance", that Norwegian Joy Division tribute.

The Cure's cover of LWTUA or Smashing Pumpkins' take on "Isolation".

JOY DIVISION - The Eternal by Kings of Convenience NEW ORDER - Love Vigilantes by Poi Dog Pondering

Ceremony by Galaxie 500 and The Echoing Green are quite good.

And I'm probably the only one to actually like Frente's BLT. Stabbing Westward did a good job too.
