I went to see Inspiral Carpets in York last night, and they played "Temptation" (1987 version) as part of their intro tape.

Just thought you should know.

I went to see Lisa Marie Presley with my wife recently. She used the long version of Elegia as her intro tape.

Actually they were excellent. Poor venue, and the sound was a bit crap, but their performance was top notch.

They played about an hour and a half and mostly singles, plus a particularly fine "Sackville".

For encores they covered "96 Tears" and a very mangled but enjoyable "Tainted Love", finishing by introducing "This Is How It Feels" as "this is a new song, bear with us okay?"

Clint Boon looks more like Steve Diggle every time I see him, and Tom Hingley is rivalling one B Sumner in the "who ate all the pies?" stakes.

Damn fine entertainment, what.
