Anyone seen the new Texas album cover? It's exactlty the same idea and colour combination of 'Get Ready'. An absolute disgrace, Old Bailey here we come.:nonono:

Yes noticed that one! Another one was the British Sea Power single, "remember me" which seemed very similar to ceremony sleeve, covered previously in the forums.

Quite true. She is a tart :bag:

Plus, the title is a rip off of the work title of Monaco's 2nd album (hence the name of the 2nd disc on the upcoming One True Passion 2.0)

Yes, it may be a rip off, but Nicolette Kreibitz still looks better on the cover :love2:

It's easy to rip off such a simple and pointless cover as Get Ready. Saville is absolutely pathetic if he's consistently late submitting work as easy as that.

unknown pleasures was a simple sleeve. as was closer & don't even get me started on still...

nothing wrong with simplicity in art mind!

Am I the only other person who thinks the GR cover was naff? ;)

When Mr Wilson did a talk with Jon Ronson at the RFH a couple of years ago I asked:

'is Saville taking the piss or is he deconstructing the logo to its simplest form?'

Wilson thought it was the latter and I'd be inclined to agree.

later on some twat in the audience asked 'what was Ian like?' and I wanted to kill him.

It's not as blatent as the Poster for the Peter Hook Athens DJ set, that's a rip off.

I'm not against minimalism in art (usually), but I do require meaningful content. I've liked some of Saville's work, but I just find the Get Ready cover to be a monkey's job.

Yeah, but the pictures of Nicolette Kreibitz are pretty nice, even as album photos.

Apparently, Peter Saville is quite a fan of BSP and of their sleeve designs too. 'Remember Me' is only a little bit like Ceremony, and it is quite fitting.

The Texas one is irritating. They have also managed to lose the simplicity that made the Saville original work.

Texas ripped off Saville's non-cover artwork.

The "Concept" for Get Ready was that in these days of downloading and homemade CD-R's, people often create their own covers for albums. The artwork was supposed to depict Coco making her cover for Get Ready.

I guess it's up to you to decide if she's putting on clothes to get ready for something or taking off her clothes to get ready for something else.

I liked the rough version he mocked up with just a clear case with a red stripe on it (in the PS book). That would have been a really good cover...

It's a shame we didn't get a 3rd single off Get Ready though...

Well, we sorta did...weren't there Someone Like You promos?

But I guess that wouldn't have been the one. I can't quite wrap my head around a dance mix of Turn My Way. Close Range would have been a better choice to remix, IMHO.

--Sam And the remix of SLY was shite, just like every remix of Crystal.

Hey, the Bedrock mix of Crystal was great! I happen to loathe that remix. In my opinion, it completely destroys everything about the song.
