I have bought what I thought was a bargain. A copy of FAC 2 - A Factory Sample. Now someone tells me there should be 4 stickers in it :nonono: . This is devastating new and I guess the record is worthless without them :( . Does anyone know what this stickers looked like?

Apart from the Durutti Column sticker, which sticker belongs to which band?

Ventriloquists dummy belongs to Joy Division (God knows why, anyone?), bloke having a wazz is for the Cabs and the other one is for John Dowie. It combines the titles of his three tracks on the EP into one sentence. Maybe it was him that wrote that rugby match report...

Thanx Clive for clearing that up mate. :thumb:

Lack of stickers probably knocks about a third off the value (based on very old Record Collector prices).

Mine doesn't have stickers either. But I can let you have some 1986 Pannini football annual stickers if that would be nearly as good...

Could be worse! I still have that dodgy Durutti Column track to listen to! Did anyone apart from Vinnie Riley and Tony Wilson actually like The Durutti Column?

Yes, they're GREAT. Just 'cos you and Mike don't like them...

A copy with all stickers has just turned up on ebay. It says and shows 5(!) stickers one is a Factory sticker!?!?!

That looks right to me. There are various versions of the stickers (just the 4, 4 + 1 factory sticker, 5 on one sheet) which are described as being the "complete set".

There has been some speculation that bootleg copies of Fac2 were made but I think, given the difficult to reproduce silver and plastic sleeve, that this is unlikely. More likely is the typical Factory level of organisation making different parts of the recording run different.

Any version of Fac2 is a highly desirable and interesting artefact.

BTW, the Durutti Column tracks sound totally different to their later work. Any way, Vini Reilly / DC are one of the greatest and most under-rated acts associated with Factory
