Whether you want to hear "a little story about a bizarre love triangle" or a "whorey old chestnut" like Blue Monday, you have to admit no one song has really had as much dancefloor impact as these two songs right here. Which song over-all is the better tune? I'll let you know what I think a little later.

defo Blue Monday....still get's the crowd going 20 years later...not sure that BLT could get everyone in the club on the floor 3 years after it's release...BLT is alright...but it's not the dancing machine that is Blue Monday!!!
now if they could just be convinced that it isn't necessary at every fooking gig!!!
Is BLT really a 'dance' record? I never viewed it as such. It had no influence whatsoever on dance muzak over here.
Blue Monday though, that's the ultimate dancefloor track - one of the first records to get boys up dancing with one another when before that we just had the Jam, Specials or Madness to pogo along together.
So I've voted for Blue Monday if this is just down to a vote about which makes a better dance track. It's stood the test of time dancefloor wise as well, whereas that horrendous BLT rehash just seems stuck in the 80's.
However, if we'd been going on which is the better track overall, I'd have to say the original BLT from BrotherHood. Fabulous number, and one for the 'ardcore. Just a shame we now get the watered down version live. It's lost its appeal for me these days.
Well, vote for Passover in the big Community showdown, and we'll do a live version of the original BLT for youse !
although I enjoy listening to Bizarre Love Triangle more 'Brew' Monday (especially with all the various cool remixes) is definately a finer 'jump up and down' club track... 
Wish they would drop Blue Monday fromthe live set, I think is tired, boring and dated, where as Bizarre is a great laugh live down the front.

I think (at least today), that BM has the slight edge over BLT in that it's a bit more "dance", there's a pretty consistant beat while BLT changes so much I don't think your average boozehound at the local club could keep up with it. On the negative side, BM has been played to death, BLT not near as much. Either way I just don't know that I can choose 
Blue Monday in terms of dance muzak. Much more influential, too. Frankly, I wished they would drop both from the live set.
If they didn't attempt to do the remix (really, it's all just programmed, aside from the vocals and bass line), BLT would be good live.
Speaking about the original BLT, does Steve actually play drums in it or is a drum machine used? In the live footage in the video, he is playing drums, but on 316, when the band attempts to do the remix, he obviously isn't playing drums.

I seriously doubt that the footage [ in the vidy] was actually from BLT.

Actually, I think that BLT is quite tired live. It's usually the only one I FFW through. BM however comma is so simple is has th eamazing ability to change from live set to live sset, as we have seen quite a bit in the past...think "Love Reaction", some of the sets in '89 and more recently, the guitar riffs added by Billy and Phil. Whereas BLT..Blah!
the Shep Pettibone remix of BLT was played in clubs in the USA bigtime in the late 80s and the Pettibone style was heavily imitated/ or just hired him.
i like the original BLT better, with the very naive attempt at a breakbeat and the undiluted emotion.
really, both are dated horribly beat and especially bass-wise for the dancefloor, BLT is a little funkierish.
but i still like both originals, and the fine BM 88 remix.
