Also, according to that website Pavement don't sound like The Fall. This bee obviously has such great expertise in music. ![]()

It should be the other way around for most bands: So and so sounds like New Order, for many of those listed bands were influenced by the Order.
Oh, and an American speaks! ![]()
I liked the comparison with the Sisters of Mercy. Cause they're almost the same, sometimes it get me confused and can't tell witch band is playing.
New Order sounds like: Electronic Joy Division The Pet Shop Boys Depeche Mode The Cure :D
Well, maybe the last 3 aren't true...
Tsk, tsk, everybody knows New Order sounds like:
Wang Chung David Hasselhoff A Flock of Seagulls Neil Diamond Orchestral Manouveres in the Dark Steely Dan Yanni Simply Red

Metallica, well when they were good with Masters of Puppets, probably can't meet Kraftwerk.

I don't think so. Then again, at a club recently, I heard a cover of "Can't get you out of my head" by some goth band with a guy singing. Either way, both are kind of strange.
NO don't sound like anyone else. They just sound like themselves. Remember when that used to be a good thing for bands?
Here's a thought: Wouldn't a Johnny Cash cover of Joy Division have been great? He had the voice for it.
I could hear Johnny sing Isolation, just don't know if Rick Rubin got round to play Cash any JD discs; better that than Danzig indeed.
I'd say they sound like The Manhattan Transfer with a touch of Yes and Franky Yankovic.
I mean, Hooky sure does play a mean accordion...
...And Barney! His Zither-playing is fantastic!
Madonna? I'd like to hear Mrs. Ritchie have a go at Ceremony. Not. Or Barney have a go at Like a Prayer. Not.
