Is it my imagination, or are some of these slightly different mixes (e.g. Deadbeat, State Of Shock, etc)?
It could be down to the remastering process, but I'm hearing different bits to these songs - extra vocals, more guitar, etc...
As I say, it could be me, but nice all the same!
(Edit: This may indeed be the case - just noticed the Paradise Man's comments above!)

...well it seems that i'm the only REVENGE-supporter alive...got my copy of "One True Passion V2.0" today and i must say i still quite like the stuff. "Deadbeat", "State Of Shock", "14K", "7 Reasons"...top tracks, much better than most of the RaiseThePressure Electronic stuff, where "Soul" almost sounds like an Electronic-song. And for the two new tracks...not as good as the tracks that follow, sounds more like Monaco than Revenge...did anyone listen to Peter Hook after "It's Quiet" on the first disc? Nice one

In fairness Marco, you have just listed their best moments above (and I'd add Big Bang and It's Quiet to that grouping too, which then makes quite an impressive bunch of tracks) ... but, Hooky did also bring us the likes of Bleachman, Fag Hag, Surf Nazi and Jesus I Love You, all of which sounded absolutely dire to these ears (and were terrible titles to boot!)..
Can someone just tell me what the 'secret' addition on the end of this CD is, please???
(I quite liked Revenge, though when they were going any member of NO could've farted into a mic and I'd have though it was genius.....)

Well, you're not alone there. I've only ever heard 'Jesus... I Love You' up until receiving the new version of 'One True Passion' yesterday, and I really like this stuff. You can certainly date it at around the time of 'Technique' (much of the instrumentation reminds me of Steve and Gillian's 'Making Out' soundtrack), but I really like this stuff.
Where Electronic initially sounded like 'Technique' without Hooky, much of this Revenge stuff sounds like an extension of tracks like 'Guilty Partner'. Having said that, Peter Hook's low-down vocals get somewhat lost in the mix - he sounds much better on tracks such as 'Deadbeat'.
Anyone noticed Revenge's tendency to use the same synthesised string patch as could be heard in the eighties theme tune to the BBC series 'Casualty'? Wonder what synth had that sound...
As many people here know, I'm a New Order completist, but just a casual collector of the side projects - I normally just buy the albums by these offshoots. The only side-project albums I don't own are the 2nd Other Two CD and the 2nd Monaco album... Are these worth getting hold of at all?

Well, it appears that the edited tracks are: Pineapple Face, Big Bang, Fag Hag, Cloud 9, State Of Shock and Deadbeat.
I agree, the remastering seems to have brought out more guitar sounds. Unless they've over-dubbed it. Soul sounds very much like a track I was working on at the time - did you nick my master tapes again Mr Hook?

I've never owned the originals of these, but it does credit Hooky for 'editing' of the tracks in the sleeve. Does that mean the tracks you mentioned are clipped, 'Substance' style to fit on the discs?

well...is it only the remastering ??? As i listened to the whole CD last afternoon i thought for example "Big Bang" hat a totally different arrangement than the "original" album-version, same as for "Deadbeat". And the "7 Reasons" version has a mastering-error at about 2 minutes into the song. did anyone else hear it ???
If you mean the "That's so nice, that" quote in "7 Reasons", that was on the original "One True Passion" - i.e. it's a demo version.
But, yeah, there's about 75 minutes of music on disc one, so maybe they were running out of space...?
Still, superb CD and well worth the money!

Someone is actually selling this cd on Ebay. Unbelievable. And he's charging more than James Nice!!
It's a lovely, brilliant package. All I can say is that I would much rather have seen the original OTP alkbum presented in its original running order on the first disc, then the b-sides and extras, then a second disc of the 'new stuff' (i.e. GWP + the 7 new songs, and maybe White Light/White Heat). Talking of WL/WH, has anybody uploaded an MP3 of this anywhere?
And "The Wilding" is so completely the ending of "As It Is, When It Was" I started singing a New Order song over the top.

No, i mean there's a scratching sound over the recording, pretty short but annoying. Try to get in around 2:00 minutes and you'll hear it, sounds like a digital master error...

Well, i've got the whole album where WL/WH is on...but you really don't miss nothing, very sloppily performed the track, sounds almost like a demo...cheers :bag:

Have to agree. I desperately wanted to like OTP b/c I was jonesing for a new NO record. But I could never really get into it.
I did think a few of the tracks off GWP were quite good. But both releases suffered from over production.

Really? I've never listened to the Other two (though somebody gave me a promo of the first one that I've had since the day it came out) or the second Monaco, but the Electronic albums actually get progressively better and by Twisted Tenderness you really get a blueprint for Get Ready. In fact, though I like a few songs on Get Ready, I think TT is a much better album all the way through.
As to this Revenge reissue, this truly preys on the reissue/nostalgia culture that's been created by the introduction of DVDs. There's no way this piece of sh*t record should ever have been reissued much less expanded upon.
i think it works better than the original arrangement-wise although there are some fucking terrible edits on there, especially during Cloud 9.
seems like its been done on the cheap for me, although its nice to hear the tracks again after so long.

Maybe you should give the third 'Electronic noise' a go ... I got Twisted Tenderness to start with, which I think is excellent. I then bought the first two, without prior listening, and these have been filed under Shite.
