Welcome Koen. I checked your profile, are you realy that old. If its true then it's about time you got to see the greatest band on earth,what , in the universe!!
I guess I'm even older than you :-) I had actually given up hope to ever see them live; the last concert in Holland was in 1985. Being a fan since Low Life (well since Blue Modnay I guess) I couldn't miss out on this opportunity to see New Order only 300kms from my home!! I'm ready.

You can bet your ass on that, Jimmy. There is no other place for me then front row. Yo Coen, i was at the '85 concert in Rodam,Arena. Absolutely fucking brilliant.Nice story about that gig: Me and my pal are waiting in line to get in,next minute Bernard comes walking up the steps.Doorman doesn't believe him when he says he's with the band(!)We confirm Bernard's statement to the doorman but he says: that's what they all say. It took a chick from management to finally enable Barney to enter Rotterdams bloody Arena! All the time Bernard was kind of laughing in an embarresed way. Turned out to be a great gig.

Since I missed that show due to holidays, I have always kept in the back of my mind that if NO would come to Holland I would go and see them whatever it would take. So, Cologne is good enough for me! Do you also think that in Holland New Order/Joy Divsion are underrated and that that may be the reason they don't come over?? Afraid they might not sell out any decent sized venue?? I hardly ever meet someone who likes them. (Actually I am going with a French friend of mine who says they were huge in France back in the eighties...)

I believe they've got a large enough group of fans over here to fill any place, but you are right , they are very underrated.
In my younger days(ahem) i always found that i was one of a few that were into JD/NO. It was regarded as depressive music(?).I never understood why, actually.O.k.,Joy Division's music isn't the happiest but to me the power and originality of it had more value than so called depressed lyrics.Lyrics that were expressing only a certain state of mind, and the mind works in mysterious ways , as we all know.Pfff, i'm getting tired. Wish it was november 16 !!

bloody hell, it is hard to get entrance to rotterdam gigs but even harder to be able to make a connection to this message board! 
Low-Life and Brotherhood were my favourite albums from the eighties. Friends of mine always looked a bit funny when they saw my huge pile of 12 inches, without any information on it, haha!! Joy Division was more depressing than New Order I think. I like the combination of pop melodies and dark lyrics. Dutch pele usually dont like 'depressing' music... And Get Ready was a big surprise, what a great album!!!!
