Hi there,

I'm finishing up the updating of the Discography, and I have some questions spawned from my collected information...

  • Does anyone have Warner's promo "Is It Legal"?
  • Does anyone have, or have heard of, a compilation called "B.L.A.S.T. Modern Rock - Program #28"? The compilation is a radio promo CD issued by Pellegrino Productions (USA), and is said to include the original 7" Temptation (5:15).
  • Is 316 released in Australia? Not as a UK import.
  • Is the Philip Steir Club Mix of True Faith 2001 the same as the Philip Steir Re-Order?
  • Does anyone have, or have heard of, a Reprise sampler containing Crystal (7" Recall Master)?
  • Does anyone have, or have heard of, the Les Inrocks CD containing Vicious Streak?
  • Has anyone heard a Bedrock (Digweed & Muir) remix of Blue Monday?
  • Is there a second Lee Coombs remix of Crystal that Pete Tong apparently played on his show?

Thanks, /TLV

316 is a official release. However, it's not made here. I'd say it comes from the same factory yours does. It is an all zone disk.

I don't have a Crystal Recall Master Mix, but I do have a "60 MPH" Reprise CD-R with the following tracks:

  • "60 MPH" David Kahne Mix - Recall Master Mix
  • "60 MPH" David Kahne Mix - Vocals Down .5db

I've also got another CD-R with the following tracks on them:

  • 60 mph (Monitor Mixes/Steve Osborne Session)
  • Brutal (From Beach Soundtrack)
  • Crystal (Monitor Mixes/Steve Osborne Session)

l8rs,

Nick ;)

Is it true that the CDR is from 2000? Does it say what month?

A scan would be great... :D

Gee, you're spending a lot of time on this...

I'm not sure I did send you all the mistakes I found on the current one though, but I assume most of what I have is accurate unless you found new mistakes since your last update.

I'm planning to synch everything, of course both sites are not meant for the same purpose, we all know that, but eventually we'll get to this....

Being smart, I should give you all the tools to work it out and have everything to generate your site from here :evil4:, but that's an evil plan is it? ;)

Ok, TLV, I'll scan that CD 'BLAST Program #28' for you this weekend when I get my arse moving.... Actually a closer inspection showed that this CD ( although looks very much like a factory manufactured disc ) has this wording ' ADD/C&C DUPLICATORS 10M75<0146>BLAST28 ' etched on the inner rim of the disc. So I dunno if this CD qualify to be listed on the discography.

Well, for the next update I will not semi-ignore it for over a year... ;)

I refuse to accept that there are any mistakes in the Discography... erhm...

Did not get your list though. But there will be a couple of corrections in the next revision. And this summer I will probably listen to every piece of vinyl and CD I own to get the correct times... Not.

Well you know Nick, unless your code is 100% compliant with Opera (the best browser) and the Mozilla-family (since I'm slowly becoming a Linux-geek) I won't even look at the code... :D First you need to fix the not-resizing-to-thumbnail-in-Opera-problem I've reported to the trouble-shooting section... :)

Diversity is good.

So you're saying that you're suspecting it's a bootleg? Does the track sound like it's from vinyl (noise and cracks etc.)?

I may start out by making a note in the Temptation entry, maybe more info will surface in the future.

Thanks, /TLV

I agree, I was just joking ;)

Altough you know I can easily do something to code pure html, NOOL uses DHTML, which is the "problem".. and the problem you mention is because I'm too lazy to use the thumbnails, which would fix the problem...

I have to work on all this anyways, I don't like the fact that you can't link to a direct "item" due to the way it works right now, and I have yet to find a perfect design...

The discography here is meant to be multimedia, with 30 secs clip of everything, which is obviously not the same as yours which is meant for collectors mostly, and a nice printable version..

Diversity is good, and so is competition too! forces you to be better :evil4:

Not that we can compete with Mr. Gee-Whiz-Professional-Web-Designer-and-Programmer... ;) And then there's PDiddy... good content, poor design.

My motto used to be "Real men use Notepad", these days it's adjusted to "Realistic men use at least FrontPage"

  • Has anyone heard a Bedrock (Digweed & Muir) remix of Blue Monday?

Yes - but it's not a remix. It's a re-edit of the Hardfloor mix, with a longer breakdown. The re-edit was originally done by John Digweed, and not with Nick Muir (I think), so it's not truly a Bedrock mix either. Nor is it an official mix.

John Digweed dropped this track on NYE at his gig at the Avalon in Hollywood, CA at around 8:00 or so in the morning.

Kool. So it's a home-made DJ edit then... The crafty DJ edits the tracks to get a more mix-friendly intro, outro, etc. I have done so myself. Hot Tracks has turned it into a business...

Thanks for the info.

Mostly to be able to use embedded files (e.g., for the footer containing copyright-info) - it's a bit tedious to do that page by page... The html-coding is still done by hand - check the code...
