Does anyone have a ORIGINAL video of this fookin' brilliant performance. I have a copy on DVD but the quality is about 3rd generation. remember watching this live from the Rumbelows or simular stand at the Ideal Home Exhibition and I was trembling with excitement during Age Of Consent!

There was a live outside broadcast of Radio 1's 'Roundtable' where guests review the latest single releases and John Peel and Lenny Henry were amongst the guests. At the end of the broadcast, I spotted Lenny Henry, walked up to him and said 'where's John gone to?' a bemused Mr Henry sulkilly pointed me to where John was standing!

I should be able to send it to you tomorrow, Mike. There's some other New Order/Factory stuff on the tape too which I think you've already got (TOTP performances and such) and something I've labelled on the cover as 'New Order Interview'. There were a couple of interviews I taped years ago - Snub TV was one and I think there was another from a Sunday lunchtime Channel 4 programme that I can't remember the name of, neither of which I've been able to find for years so it could be one of those! I'll have a look before I send it to you.

..didn't you just hate old video recorders that took around 5 seconds to start recording, I remember not getting much of a warning that new order were about to be on

Hey, I've got an excellent low-generation VHS recording of the band doing an abbreviated 'Thieves Like Us' + a short interview on Belgian TV in 1984 (thanks to Marion - are you still out there?). Maybe this would be a nice little item to add to that DVD? Don't know where else it would fit in with (except, maybe, the Saturday Live performance?).

I'd gladly send my tape if you're interested, Mike.

Didn't get a chance to put it in the post today but will tomorrow, Mike. I did have a look at what I'd labelled 'New Order Interview' though and it's a 50 minute or so interview from a series called 'Rock of Europe' from January '88. It's actually Steve and Gillian rather than the whole band (Barney was off on a skiing holiday, apparently) and contains all the usual promo video exerpts plus a clip of Ceremony with Ian McCulloch on vocals that I haven't seen anywhere else.

If you watch the adverts before the Rock of Europe programme, Mike, you'll see an early acting role for Bianca from EastEnders...the spotty sister in the Clearasil advert!

Anybody know where the sample at the start of Blue Monday, the one that goes "let there be light..." is from? AFAIK, it's unique to this version.

Just watching my own copy of Switch...which has the telltale flickering of an early PAL->NTSC conversion.
