It was during the Town & Country Club gig in '86 that Bernard sang the following lyrics to This Time Of Night/PFD:
"For the record I never knew just what me and you would do, it turned heaven into hell, I hope I take you there as well."
Great lyrics! Does anyone know if these were changed when the song title changed from PFD to TTON, or just Bernard improvising? Also, did he sing them at any other gigs at the time. ![]()

They certainly weren't used in 1985 at any stage, when the track's name was changed. I've got a feeling I have heard them used this way somewhere before though. Having just listened to the version in question, it sounds like he is intending to say what he says, rather than his usual ad-libbing. Plus the lack of penis, twat and the usual pottyspeak.
In the very next song, Thieves Like Us, he ad-libs "it finishes your life like a long-haired wife"......
And following on from that, The Village also contains lines about a motorbike ! I'm gonna have to weed this one I think !
Jimbo, if you got me mails earlier, can you reply to the address above, rather than to my work one please ? Can't access that at this time of night ! (ho ho ho)

The version I've got of the gig is a bootleg video and he clearly sings this near the end of the track. You are right, it's one of his ad-libs, but a bloody good one! Maybe a one-off.
