No, Ceremony was the same on both. I believe that In A Lonely Place was some two minutes longer on the 12" b-side though. But I may be wrong.

My personal fave (TF) never made the final and it's so very hard to split most of those which have - so taking live renditions into account, I'll take the Ally Pally shaking "Ceremony" please . . .

They're all winners. I agree with Knownpleasures about Let's Go, but I've gone for 1963 - never has there been more emotion in Bernard's voice than on this.

No, I think the extra 44 seconds make the song drawn out a bit too long. The Substance mix builds, climaxes, and dies off just right, instead of the climax being drawn out too much.

But, that said, TPK (substance) was my vote.

Is the full TPK mix available anywhere on CD? as dusting off my record deck seems a bit torturous!

Top notch tune, all the power and instrumentation I want in a proper NO song, as well as a good feel for the JD roots...

In the absence of "Elegia", I've voted for "Dream Attack", my second favourite. However, I have two small points to make:

1. Ceremony (original) is my third favourite, and if I'd realised how close it was to beating TPK, I would have tactically voted for it instead. Bollocks.

2. Primitive Notion would have beaten Crystal if you'd left the Get Ready poll up a little longer, since I voted for it after the thread closed - it hardly had a chance to get going on that one!

Winge over. May the "best" tune win.

Hmmmm...I hat Dream Attack but I'm really not sure. I kinda wanna be seduced by TPK. Such an epic song to be sure....but I can listen to DA all the time

REGRET for me at the moment,superb song and after visiting the URBIS this weekend was nice to see the REGRET cowboy again.

sorry, no suitable explanation ... I agree with Tim that Let's go with no words is perfection. However, TPK is perfection with words and that one gets my vote.

I only like the Instrumental version as played live or featured on Salvation - it contains all the constituent elements of great New Order, and doesn't have the weak link that Barney's lyrics and vocal delivery sometimes are. Neither of the versions with words have the same feel to them, it ceases to be a speedy instrumental and instead becomes something almost leaden and unsure where to go, Definitely less is more in this one.

There is absolutely no reason at all why they couldn't play this one again in live shows - he doesn't even need the autocue !

i think both the instrumental and vocal versions of let's go are brilliant. the instrumental carries the melody so perfectly without the need for singing, yet i love how the vocal version layers barney's voice with the instruments--to me it sounds like two songs mixed together, yet, strangely, it works.

I don't like picking absolute favorites because I change my mind just about everyday, and the day I voted I liked Primitive Notion the best. It isnt my favorite New Order track but of this list it is...just for today ;)
