Any stories to tell? I first met Bernard in '92 and broke my seat when I leapt out of the car to chase after him. It was worth it though. A mate of mine met Hooky at a Monaco gig. Unfortunately he was in an apathetic mood and was offered a rather limp handshake after a 2 second conversation. Egg was left quite literally all over his face! :o :o :o

Literally bumped into Barney as he was coming out of the gents at Frankley Services on the M5 in 1985, with me wearing the 84 tour t-shirt.

Not quite as embarrassing as seeing James Dean Bradfield 4 times in less than an hour on Oxford Street. I wasn't stalking him !!!!

Just thought of another; When I was a wee lad, this would be '87, three of us from school bumped into Steve Morris in WH Smiths. So we followed the poor bloke out of the shop and into Dixons. He was obviously aware of us 'cos he tried to hide behind a 20" TV and with the size of his chin, this ain't possible! Next it was down to Top Man where we decided to let him have his freedom back. He looked scared at one point and picked up his pace down the high street. More of an embarrassment for him really. To add insult to injury, we were at the school in Macclesfield that he was expelled from.

Met Barney at the Phoenix festival once, it was the year ACR played, possibly 93.

Just basically said Hello to Barney, Rob, and Peter as they were walking outside of the Civic in 89 on a sunny afternoon before the show; they were walking one way, I was going the other, so I felt that was the most that I could do at the time. Don't remember what they said exactly, but they didn't tell me to fuck off, so I thought that was a good sign  Didn't plan on seeing 'em, so I didn't bring anything for 'em to sign, just a nice moment on a great day.

I met Hooky the day before the Dallas gig in 1993...gave him a light for his fag...but most of you have heard this story on more than one occasion...he was kind enough to autograph my Republic CD cover...

that is all...

I used to call Barney 'Bernie' for several weeks until he said " Look Chris its Barney, not Bernie. Dont keep calling me Bernie". I said "Well if Bernie is short for Bernard why do do we call you Barney?" "I dunno" he said.

I have shook hands with the Hooky 3 times and had a chat. A lovely lovely bloke. Can't say anymore than that.

Great times. :bag:
