These are the tracks that managed to score a big round zero in the polls - choose your worst!

Where is Rock the Shack?

I love the Lamacq version of that, can't understand why everyone is so dismissive.

Liar. Cheesy organ. Nasty. Barney's also best when he's writing ambiguous lyrics and not trying to spin a yarn (if this is - supposedly - about Tony Wilson).

Christ, theres much on there in my top ten! (cries, the him, blue Monday, TLU instr.....).

Had to go with slow jam

There is only one true contender here. The diarrhoea-packed colostomy that is Slow Jam. Everything else listed is quite good in its own way (does that count as being positive ? ), but Slow Jam has no redeeming features whatsoever.

PS/ Shame of the Nation's redeeming feature is the synth bassline, in case anyone was wondering....

Times Change. Doesn't Barney rap in iy??

I like the rest of the list.

Shame gets it for me. State was top drawer with a much better synth bass line. Spooky was close behind. One of the worst singles to be released from an album.

Rock The Shack is the single biggest heap of shite NO have ever done, bar nothing, nowt else in the same league. But someone voted for it as their favourite?

So my vote goes to Slow Jam.

Spooky as a song (album version) was quite weak, agreed, but the remixes were a lot better I thought, with some truly thumping basslines that would sound good in any club. The Magimix kicks ass at big volume !

Only the lyrics though, surely ? The riffs and rest of song are quasi-JD !

Another vote for the hideous Rock the Shack. If someone voted Ceremony as the least favourite would it stop it being in contention for everyone else's favourite? No, insert the shitshack song.

Rock the shack I have nothing further to add

Liar. New Order at their worst for me.

I'd forgotten about the Magimix version. Yes that was ok. It was just the wrong track to release as a single I thought. Although releasing a fourth single went a bit too far!!

Absolutely. I think it was only released because they had got so many good club mixes of it - 100% a song that improved when other people got their hands on it, and you don't get to say that very often about New Order tunes.

I still don't get why so many people dislike Slow Jam, but that's me.. the band even almost released it! :evil4:

Off this list, SHAME...

Since We All Stand is not there.. which is the winner of this every time we do it, along with Chemical.....

My personal least favorite being Angel Dust. Can't stand the samples in that one!

Spooky is probably the only New Order track without a bad remix...

And yes, the Minimix is better than the album version...

I won't debate about 1963 again ;)

Shame of the Nation is just shameful :nonono: (but why no WIM? )

The Him, even subpar compaired to the rest of Movement

Can't believe Slow Jam is getting slated:nonono:

and for once I agree with Tim:jawdrop:

The album version of Spooky is pisspoor! The remixes are actually ok.

Spooky for me.

World In Motion should be on that list, that didn't receive any votes either;)

I'll get me coat.

I like it as well. Read this thread just prior to lunch and walked the length of Baker St without being able to get this fcuker out of me head. Keeps me in mind of a metronome or something, very hypnotic and repetitive - and I do like me repetitive beats.

I've gone for Murder on this one. A fair few of the tracks in the list shouldn't be there, though. Where were your votes in the Best Track rounds?

Slow Jam isnt THAT bad. Maybe people dont like it because miranda sawyer (bitch) put it on the Pop cd in the retro box without any justification ahead of a load of other tracks.

Nothing compares to the hideousness of rock the shack.

From this here list I vote for Slow Jam.

Though I don't think it's their worst song ever. My personal choice would be RTS, but Jeff (if I remember correctly) gave it a vote...

Don't be so paranoid... Slow Jam is pretty good, Rock the Shack is pretty dire. I've been negative for once and gone for the awful Liar. The rest are fuckin' excellent!

Just shows how we all have different tastes on these things, yet all like the same band. I don't dislike Liar, but couldn't listen to Times Change, Special, Spooky or Chemical off Republic - yet some people love Special !

If RTS was an instrumental, people would like it a lot more, I'd suspect.

I guess you'd be right, considering that it's Bobby G. who doesn't work for me ;)

I thought Spooky from the album was great. Mixes were superb though. It's like gob-shite tennis this isn't it?? :p

the salvation theme is pretty dire. the of the nations, as well. too bad chemical's not on the list...

slow jam forever!

My vote would go to most of Republic and that stupid football song World in Motion. Really, what were they thinking! :barf:

And as for Republic, even Electronic's first album was better than New Order on Republic - and thats saying a lot! :barf:x2:sick:

Of course we could use two other polls. One for the worse New Order cd, not including the compilations, and another poll for the worse NO song ever, based on initial write ins from the forum members. :evil4:

Liar. It's the only song I've never gotten into, to the point of tapping my foot.

My vote goes to "Shame Of The Nation". It manages to be even worse than "State Of The Nation".

I really think "World" should be here.

Times Change is the only song that I have never played more than once in a day; I don't even bother listening to it anymore, I simply skip it.

Some of those tracks are good stuff, even for remixes, like the ones on the b-side of Substance (except for Shite of the Nation, of course!). And The Him? Come on, that song is great. Blue Monday also? I'm surprised not a single person voted for it. It is one of my favorites, along with a lot of people on here, though they may not want to admit it and it is terribly overplayed.

Of that list, went with Times Change. The one NO track that really made me wince is that Armand Vanwhatever remix..........

I know it's a matter of personal opinion, but it still beggars my opinion that people dislike State Of The Nation. I can understand Shame but not State. Also The Him? Why? It features possibly the greatest lyrical line - "..these times I find no words to say." Precisely. Bernard is lost for words with your ignorance. :nonono:

yeppers...I gave RTS a vote...I love the choon...no matter what the rest of you think about it!!!:p

Liar. It's truly terrible, even ten years on. Whereas I am learning to live with "Slow Jam". And "Rock The Shack" would be alright without the chorus - it's got a great JD live guitar sound.

I, like some others, am fairly astonished to see people voting for "The Him". "small boy kneels humble, in a great hall". It's a bit of a favourite, actually.

Still, each to their own, democracy is a wonderful thing, etc, etc.

I admit that World did bother when it first came out but many moons later in the 2000's I think it's a rather good tune actually. Naaaaaa....it should not be on the list!

since none of my worsts is there (Chemical, Such a Good Thing, Too Late, Vicious Streak..) i´ll go with The Him, because i hardly remember it! :D

Young Offender? Surprised this didn't get any more votes than mine. Isn't this really a second-rate Electronic track? Could've easily picked Liar (the lyrics are actually fairly good though) or Times Change (barely remember it).

And what draw are ya people tokin' to vote for Soundtrack, The Him, or (gasp!) Murder.

Oh my god, I forgot "Such A Good Thing"! Thanks Alejo - that is definitely the worst. A complete stinker. Even "Liar" is marginally better. Yeuch.
