Well no, I wasn't thinking about you Ricardo. It was my little way of saying "half of this is wrong mate, the first eleven were recorded as JD, As You Said was recorded in 1980 in the Closer sessions, You're No Good For Me possibly isn't by Warsaw at all" without actually saying any of that at all, and shrouding the whole thing in ambiguity !
Actually I always thought "You're No Good For Me" didn't really sound like a song title that Warsaw/JD would have used!

I *did* notice that the recording has a different sound than Inside The Line/Gutz/At A Later Date/The Kill...but I never thought to question its Warsawisity.

True, plus is that the only song missing a count-in? Haven't got the CD to hand so I can't check...
One explaination I've heard for the song's absence from those early '80s bootlegs is that it was on the other side of the demo tape, and no-one noticed for a while (slightly dubious this one). Mind you, aren't demos traditionally 4 songs? I know there's no hard and fast rule about it, but most bands who go into the studio purely to record "a demo" only lay down 4 numbers, no?

Could this be no less than Ian's pre-Warsaw band? Is that even him on vocals? I think it is, but I can't say absolutely.
The guitar parts sound unlike what Bernard was putting out at the time, so I'm willing to believe it's Ian and a different bunch, but I'm probably also willing to believe in little green men...

The original release on the 1-sided single did have a count-in but this has been removed from the Movieplay release. The first time I saw it mentioned that the demo consisted of 5 songs was in the first History in Cuttings book but I'm not aware of the track being in general circulation till '87 or so...but if it's a fake then it sounds remarkably like the other demos!
"They Walked In Line" .... amazing passionate delivery in the vocals, as badly recorded as it was.

I love the RAW sound of Novelty, completely different from the later polished version.
I would have voted for You're No Good For Me, but technically it wasnae on the RCA album, as has been mentioned. I have it, it's on an EP entitled At The Beginning, which appeared in 1987. With Barney Rubble on the credit notes

I don't think so...just listened to em both and they definatly are different recordings...I know that the sleeve credits have them as being recorded at different studios....but this WARSAW one is a great one!!

That's one of the one's I got too...It's better than the average boot but I don't think it's too "Official"
