If they were to roll into town, and DEMAND all bootleg shops be closed down, like mick fucking jagger did in dublin last year. Can't get live gigs in dublin , cause of that greedy spanner.

That , or if they were to be knighted, and start rolling around the world with a big smile doing chat shows and shouting "JET"

Well, actually, at the time Republic was released and there was barely a trace of Hooky on the record, I did completely turn my back on them. I had already been mightily pissed off to find that on the single, the newordermix (sic!!) of 'Regret' did not feature his bass AT ALL, and then the album seemed to confirm my worst fears.

Thankfully, their old work + a few bootleg records kept the flame alive  .

Don't think anything could stop me being a fan. I'm stuck with them and I hope that never changes.

IF they'll start mocking on themselves... making fun of their good songs. Remember (if you know) Elvis in the 70's? All concerts are alike with the over-repeated rituals and turning his own great songs into a laughing comedy that always fails.:eek3: I know Barney likes to have fun but I also know he still loves music more than clowning. If one gets bored, he tries to find morbid fun out of it. I hope they never will.:)

Nothing short of commiting criminal acts resulting in prison sentences.

Hm.. it ist still correct, that if New Order would lose one member of the original trio, they wouldn't bear the title New Order anymore (not by law, but by their good will)? Just concerning that thing they all agreed with even before 18.05.80.

If they did a cover of Just Can't Get Enough

Settin the words of Sam Beckett to music, and premiering said musical in Canberra .... that might take a bit of resolve

OK...haw-a-bout this:

New Order, in whatever line-up they decide to play as, do a cover of Paul Young's cover of LWTUA? Kinda bends the noodle 'eh?

"There is no spoon."

OR...the stick that would break the back...(Think of 89 and "Run") They decide to cover "Country Roads" by John Denver!! I'm not sure if I'd find that amazingly cool, or just plain repulsive!!

Just how would Canberra Greg anal- ize that, post-modern, ironic , sad or Beckett-like in its simplicity ?

Ow

brain hurting make bad away

Songs that were so much a soundtrack to my youth it's too complex an issue to contemplate not liking them - Me, my life, them = yes.

Ok, they could say that Shellshock was the best thing they ever did - or State of the nation... But even then I doubt it, they've done too many great things.
