Ok, sorry if I'm not that up to date with the band as u seem to be...
Why was my question so funny? And what do you guys mean with that they don't do near?
Apparently it will be out in 2004... from the mouth of Mr Hooky himself.
But we all know that New Order and fixed release dates are two seperate entities that can't live together right?
Okay, just for a second there my heart was in my mouth! I knew it was gonna be a newbie who didn't use a '?' mark, but you can't deny me that one fleeting moment when I thought "Yes, finally!"

what he meant was New Order are on their own schedule. a seperate method of timing all together. it could be 2 more years before we get a new album. a new album may never surface. you just have to kind of forget about it (but continue to check this site) and relax or you'll go crazy (ask Martin "arm in a sling" Fradley). So to say they are "near" a release date is preposterous. Bernard is still looking for that 2004 Edition of the Rhyming Dictionary for Men with a Childs Brain. Hooky is laughing at Andy Rourke's lack of bass skill and convincing Mani to keep Gillespie away from Bernard.
Seriously though, you were only the 100th person to use their first post to ask when a new New Order album was going to be release.
Hints to survive the board:
NEVER ASK WHEN THEY WILL TOUR AMERICA! (or your small country, it ain't gonna happen) NEVER POST A LINK TO YOUR BANDS MP3 AS A FIRST POST (or 2nd, or 3rd) DON'T ASK IF BERNARD IS GAY ....................basically, check the FAQ, do a couple Forum Searches for info before you start asking questions some of us have seen and answered a hundred times before.

Andreas, don't let the veterans scare you off, I used to be just like you :D Just make sure you don't title your threads that lead people to believe there's news on a new album...just keep the faith alive

Yeah, hope I didn't scare you off - as everyone else has pointed out, the "joke" is that New Order in the 21st Century are in many ways as inscrutable, wayward and just plain lazy as they ever were, and asking straightforward questions like yours is just asking for trouble!
Don't worry about going mad, though: New Order didn't put my arm in a sling: it was a potent combination of Stella Artois, mud and "The Cutter".

Welcome to NOOL,dont let anyone on here give you shit! You are a fan,thats good enough. As for a new album the truth is it`ll turn up out the blue without warning. Kind of like Announced on a friday,released following Monday. They like to catch us off guard! :)

Well, Andreas, apparently everyone's pretty much welcomed you into the fabulous world of NOOL. (World in motion?) Having said all that, though, New Order should be relasing a new album this year, given not only Hooky himself, but other people as well - if I'm not mistaken, even Barney - have already stated they've been writing and recording. But of course, as everyone's already said before, with New Order you just never know...
