Just watching Lorely and Barney seems to be rather enjoying himself during Perfect Kiss - i even though i saw Steve smile as well!!! :eek3:

I know BLT is always a favourite which they seem to delight in playing, as is of course the unforgettable performance of Temptation on the Acadamy video where Barney just starts laughing half way through (one of my favourite live NO video moments ever)

What other songs can you recall them having a whale of a time performing on stage???

Quite fond of Barney's "Oooh, I've got a bee up me arse" dance at the start of "She's Lost Control" on the Finsbury DVD.

Irreverent genius.

I thought he`d stood in dogshit! Nearly as good as Fine Time on TOTP

I think different band members enjoyed performing different songs. Clearly they all like doing Temptation, or else it wouldn't have been played over 250 times.

I always got the impression that Hooky enjoyed Age of Consent, and that Barney liked Perfect Kiss and Love Vigilantes. Difficult to know with Steve, he's always pulling faces behind the kit anyway !

It looks like he enjoys "Bizarre Love Triangle" as he had a major participation in the composing of this song and he can rest playing keyboards!

Course it is. They always claim to hate it, but are always so keen to play it. If they really hated it, it would have gone the way of Procession, EGG, Shellshock and suchlike, but no they keep churning it out, even though they know te audience hate it !

I think Blue Monday's just a good way for Barney to kill 8 or 9 minutes up where he hates to be. And the times I was close enough to really see, I always thought Steve had a better time on keys than on drums. Hooky probably has a blast at the soundcheck much less with any particular song.

Temptation is by far the song most enjoyed by The Barnster, love his wee ad libs and whooping, totally agree about Academy Bruv and BLT. Hooky has said in several interviews that there's nothing like seeing the crowds faces when he starts Age Of Consent. Dunno about Gillian's favourite cos she never looked particularly happy at ANY of the gigs I've been to:lol: Steve mentioned in an interview a couple of years back that he gets bored playing a lot of the stuff. He usually looks quite busy during She's Lost Control tho, he must have been remembering how bad it was on that fookin roof;)

True Faith must have been played at every gig since making its debut at Glasnost back in 87, and as much as we all slag BM, it's still a cracking live song.

Note To Band again: Shorten it down and bung it in near the start of the next setlists:beer:

BLT, especially on Reading...probably the most fun Barney had ever had on stage at that point, Hooky being the mad bass bastard he is, Gillian and Steve rocking the keys, even Steve looks happy, looks like he's singing along at the beginning

i have seen barney really going mental to face up. as stated he also used to like tpk. hookster seemed to like most things. but if something had fucked them off they hated everything and just fucked off themselves..

They seem to be very happy playing the JD stuff, havent you noticed? Its like "we wrote this, its fuckin ace!" they`re proud of those songs. So they should be too. :thumb:

I just find incredibly funny and slightly preposterous that Barney should have to read words he wrote in the first place from an autocue. Can he possibly be having any fun at all? And doesn't he have to wear glasses now?

Anyway, they're certainly ambiguous about Blue Monday, but their top one has got to be Temptation.

Whatever song is the last one of the set list for the night.
