Of the ones listed i think CLOSER as much for the texture of the original VINYL cover as the picture.Materials used in the art of ARTWORK was essential to me. ![]()

MMMMM a close shave!:D
LOW-LIFE the tracing paper sleeve is just brilliant.
You didnt list Brotherhood-thats a close second.
I think P C & L is my least favourite new order sleeve - know it's Savilles favourite, but it just doesn't do it for me.
voted for low life as it was dfferent to everything else with the tracing paper (& the variable sleeve on the cd & cassette versions) cover
in fact it was so good Saville did it again for Peter Gabriel later without the traciong paper.
Such a hard choice but Technique wins out for me.
Hard not to vote for the iconic Unknown Pleasures or the Titaanzink of Brotherhood - but seeing Technique at the Saville show took me straight back to 1989 when Neworder really got inside my head. The lazy old b@$t@rd$ are still partying in there now.![]()
Where's Brotherhood? Best one by far... Though I really like the cover of Bizarre Love Triangle (single).
I really like the feeling of volentary obscurity/lack of flamboyance on the Joy Division Substance sleeve. It has a design that would normally blend but I don't think I'd mistake it for anything else.

whats wrong with my collections?
I voted for republic. ![]()
Unknown Pleasures - the best record sleeve by any band ever. It perfectly sums up the whole Factory/JD ethos for me.

You daft bugger!![]()
I'm in love with the International cover, though he even didn't design the image... anyway where's Brotherhood? The actual best cover must be Technique, but my absolute favourite is Confusion.

Had Closer as LP and just bought it on CD. this week. The LP version of the sleeve is just .... art! But I voted for PC&L, just for that slight margin.
Unknown Pleasures from the ones listed, textured card version. I like Ceremony 7" best of all the NO/Saville sleeves.
By the way, I think Dave Rowbotham designed the Durutti sandpaper sleeve, not Saville. In fact I don't think Saville designed any Durutti sleeves (I could be wrong though). I also like the Section 25 - "Girls Don't Count" 7" (earlier use of tracing paper than Low-life) and the textured sleeve and clear vinyl for Tunnelvision's "Watching The Hydroplanes" 7".
