So, what will it be? I reckon 'Superhighways' has a larger number of better tunes, but the first three songs off 'The other two and you' are just invincible ("Tasty fish", "The greatest thing", "Selfish"), and the rest of the album's not too bad either. Cast yer votes!

I've only heard each of them once or twice but I do recall liking "The Other Two and You" better. No real reason other than unbias preference.

both weak albums IMO. but certainly all Superhighways can´t compare to just Selfish. so TOT&Y it´s for me.

not rilly listened to superhighways enough to comment, the other two & you had some fine singles on it

was the last new order related release on factory (chronilogicaly, not cat no wise) by the other two?

I think so, especially because I remember reading somewhere - it might have been Claude Flowers' book - that Stephen and Gillian were pretty mad at Saville because he'd used up the artwork that was supposed to be for their album on 'Republic' instead...

Superhighways is a far better album, except that "Tasty Fish" and "Selfish" are the best two songs....

So what a dillema!!

Went for Superhighways...

Superhighways, barring the vocal "stylings" of Melanie Williams, of course. Both of these are more worthwhile listens than the second Electronic album, and I'd say Superhighways > Twisted Tenderness, but that's probably a minority opinion.

You want minority? I seem to be the only person in the world who really liked Raise the pressure!

I loved the 3 Electronic albums...

Although that there are some so-so songs at the end of Raise The Pressure.. except Freefall, one of my favorites...

Forbidden City, For You, Second Nature, Freefall, Until The End of Time, all top tunes :thumb: (although I prefer the Fluffy Dice remix of UTEOT)

Both o2 albums have more crap songs than good, but there are a few cracking tunes in there. I voted for t'other two and yiaow. :thumb:

Does Gillian do any singing on SuperHighways? I've never heard the album. I absolutely love her voice, love "Innocense" off of Other Two and You as well.

She sings on 2/3 of the album

Superhighways is far superior. Yes, the singles of the first album were great, but the other tracks are rather weak, and it's probably the least good album of any New Order member. Superhighways is almost entirely excellent and includes their best song ever, Weird Drum Woman.. so emotional.. so underrated... I also adore Freefall.. that simple piano in the final is so great, fantastic strings and keyboards, wonderful chorus...

Only Loved It and Tasty Fish were on Factory. London insisted on releasing the New Order album (Republic) first before taking a chance on the Other Two.

I suppose Gun World Porn was probably the last New Order related release. Too lazy to investigate.

The Other Two & You,it was more NO sounding than Superhighways. I like RTP alot, its just 2 or 3 tracks too long (good b.sides too!)

While Superhighways might have had better production, I had to choose The Other Two & You for the first four tracks. Tough decision though, as Superhighways had some stand-out tracks, too.

Has to be The Other Two and You, "Tasty Fish", "Selfish", and "The Greatest Thing" great slices of light synth pop.

Superhighways tries too hard to follow the trends of the time, Melanie Williams is on too many tracks, but "You Can Fly" is a great song.

*I do sooo many edits, perhaps I should utilize the preview function* :mallet:

Don't play them much at all so it would be difficult to judge yet.May give them both a platy this weekend and report back.:smoking:

The Other Two and You 5 out of 10.

Super Highways 7 out of 10.

"SuperHighways" gets my vote. The first album sounds a bit puzzled to me with all the instrumentals and stuff. "SuperHighways" has better songs. "the river", "cold feet" and "weird woman" are class!

"Superhighways" for me too. Although I hate the Melanie Williams vocals - much better when Gillian sings.

Would prefer to vote for "Disgraceful" by Dubstar instead though as it's much the same thing only better.
