But there is a difference. The band members may be almost 50, but the band will only be 25 years old next year (almost 30 if you count Warsaw/Joy Division). However, the Rolling Stones have been a band for more like 50 years, and its members have to be close to 80! ![]()

Er, if it helps at all, he's actually only going to be 49 next year.
He's 50 in 2006.
There, that's better.

*Especially when you have T9 with autocomplete which makes much faster writing proper words rather than wasting time with abrvtns. ![]()

There, that's better. Thank Christ for that...I thought I'd fallen asleep and woken up in 2005 for a few seconds there!
We had the 70's, the 80's, the 90's, do we have the 00's?
"yeah, I love those old zeros songs"

Some of our 'style pundits' in the popular press call this decade the 'noughties'.....three years and a bit have gone by, where's the naughties that I was led to expect
The 'tenzies' is going to sound even more peculiar!
And when do we stop calling the year "Two thousand and...." and go on to "Twenty..."? Do we have "Two thousand and ten" or "Twenty ten"? Is there some sort of set etiquette for this? What did they do in the eleventh century? We know that by 1066 it was "Ten sixty six" but I wonder what the average saxon called the year in 1001...
Yeah,
this is depressing - baby-faced eternally young Barney almost 50. Urghhh - that means I'm clocking on!
Musically though - don't worry - how old are Kraftwerk - and they're still releasing great material - if anyone's heard the remixes of Aerodynamic (some of which are by Messrs Hutter & Schneider), you'll know what I mean.
baby-faced eternally young not anymore... saw some recent pictures and he looks much older than two years ago... fatter, grey hair balding and glasses! He doesn't look older than a man aged 50, it's just at 46 he looked like he was 36...
