any of the Dallas based fans interested in meeting up on Sunday night???

the Dallas "party" station is sponsoring a retro night at Club Babalu on Sunday...the DJ is a guy I know from another forum...

Club Babalu - drink specials, (.75 cent wells) - relaxed dress code 18+ - retro and fun. Dj Paisley and Domino - EVERY SUNDAY

Are Bobby & J.R. going?

Sure, didn't you know that listening to New Order is the way most Texans relax after a long day of ropin' steers and drillin' fer black gold?

David...don't you mean raping steers???

And actually, I know there are at least 4 of us that are from the Dallas area...

I reckon they don't want to meet up with me though...sniff sniff...

Wish I could, but alas work (bright and early) on Monday morning might become a problem.

yes...Sunday night does suck...but at least I don't have to be at work until 10 on Monday morning!!!

Still, might be worth coming down just to see me in the loudest neon green-yellow shirt you will ever have the misfortune of laying your eyes on!!!

That was (is?) a great club. Saw some excellent shows there back in the late 80's and early 90's (A Split Second, 808 State, Meat Beat Manifesto etc.). And missed too many others (The Ocean Blue, Front 242 and PIL to name a few).

A great trip from College Station to Houston was to hit Record Rack (RIP) and then #'s. Ahhhh...the good ol' days, sort of.

it's still there...the restrooms are still as nasty as ever...and they were still playing great music the last time I was there....

I think I might have hit up Record Rack once or twice myself...but was more inclined to purchase my stuff from Noo-beat...which I believe is gone as well...

Used to love Record Rack as well and had my fair share of going to Red Square back in the day. Met Alan Wilder out front once. :love2: I was on cloud nine for weeks afterwards.

I seem to remember rumors of Martin Gore and Matt Johnson hanging out at #'s after the DM/The The gig in '93 or '94.
