N O Songs you would like to hear but haven't

New Order songs (versions)you would like to hear but haven't, for whatever reason. Like they weren't relesed in your country, or you didn't buy them them when you had a chance.

For me top of the list would have to be: Run2 and MTO. Perhaps even Rocking Carol.

All these never officialy made it to OZ.

In most American music stores (the shite mainstream ones), they have Best of, Substance, and maybe Low Life or PCL if we're lucky, no more I was shocked though to find a CD single for World though, who would've thought that?

Well, if you ever make your way out to Sacramento, CA. in the future you MUST stop by the 'BEAT' in downtown. You'll have no problem finding just about anything you're looking for. New & Used...LP & CD.

Just a thought...you know...just in case...

I've never heard the song "Vietnam". Wouldn't mind giving it a shot. Also I would like to hear "Primitive Notion" live if they ever play it.

Haven't yet heard Vietnam or the Saville Soundtrack yet either.

Come to think of it, there are a couple of small record stores around this ass crack of a city, "Record Archive" being one of them. Then again, I'm pretty sure there's a couple more, so it might just a "cooler, indie" chain store

But I'm semi-rich now (working 12 more hours a week can give you some extra cash, while robbing you of precious sleep..), so I'll have to investigate.

I just need to find a cheap CHEAP but good turntable, I'm aching to play my newly acquired BLT and BM83 12"...My first Order vinyl experience.

Right you are about the Beat. Last time I was there (a few years ago) they had 5 of the "cancelled" Electronic "Late at Night" double CD singles.

hmm... so yeah mostly remixes (and I am not even sure if any of them are any good...) especially w/ the "Republic" ones... I mean, I bought the Spooky single - and only liked one of the mixes, so that kinda tainted all of the others

Evil Dust actually makes Angel Dust palatable to me (Angel Dust always seemed like half a good song, in my view anyway), and I can second the report on difficulties finding New Order material. Until I found some quality indie vinyl stores, finding New Order material was difficult, even Tower only carried a limited collection in general, stuff like Substance, Technique, and Brotherhood. Took me about five months to locate PCL, another four to find brotherhood, and although I found Movement fairly quickly I stayed away, somehow presciently understanding that staying away was a good idea.

Man, I never thought I lived in a cool town or anything, but my local Tower's got an impressive collection, and all the singles from Republic, as well as several copies of Here To Stay.

The Bedrock mix of "Crystal" was the essential new tune about 2 months before release,then Lee Coombs mix was the essential new tune about a month later. I think you`d find its just the mix on cd2.

All of them were played live, though it took them 9 years to find the nerve to do Guilty Partner, which promptly fell apart almost immediately !

This gives me an idea. I shall mail you Spotnick off-list about it !

With all the above there's more than enough material to make a new cd.

The Run 2 extended version, MTO, The Happy One, Vicious Circle (New Order Mix), some extra bloody b-sides instead of shite remixes!!

And the various mixes of Someone Like You by Future Shock (there are a low-down and another version, stripped down, don't remember actually)......

Once you've heard one, you've heard them all. Very similar, just minor changes in the arrangement...

I'm trying to get at least one copy of every individual track New Order have released, preferably on CD - and there's a lot of them: something like 500 tracks or so.

Been collecting their stuff since 'Touched By The Hand Of God' came out, and now I only need to track down around 20 tracks, but they're the bloody hard ones to find now, so I've gone almost as far as I can with my collection.

It's all documented, in order of release, at http://www.andrewmorrison.co.uk/tno/NewOrderTrackList.html, so have a look over there for a breakdown of every New Order track, rather than the usual discography thing of listing every release.
