Rumours According to a totally unconfirmed thread on the Popbitch messageboard [thanks to AJ for spotting] a Rob Gretton tribute concert is planned in the near future. Doves, A Certain Ratio and even possibly New Order could appear.

By rights it should be on their Official Site but there's no mention.

Instead you can find it here at the Band on the Wall site. Saturday, April 3rd.

Interesting, To Each... hasn't been on CD before, has it?

The "Ballroom" part of TGATB is really good, and I seem to recall a story about Jeremy Kerr having to do the whole performance with his back to the audience, because he spotted his dole officer in the front row and didn't want his cash in hand earnings to be found out!

To Each ... has been on CD via Creation Records - not easy to find now though!

To Each...appeared in 1994 on the Creation label but this new version is remastered and features two bonus tracks. Stupid thing is I got the original cd off Ebay a few months ago and paid thru the nose. Typical. Good story about Jez's dole officer though.:thumb:

Are you getting To Each... and Graveyard mixed up :confused2:

No, both have been remastered and feature two bonus tracks. I'm waiting for Sextet and I'd Like To See You Again to appear now. Maybe Force might even get a make-over.

Hopefully, but the Soul Jazz website doesn't mention the other albums.

The Band on the Wall website mentions this date is part of a tour? Any idea of the other venues?

It's a good story but it doesn't really ring true - his dole officer would've had to have travelled all the way to Camden to have seen the band. If he was that big a fan of ACR he probably would already have known that Kerr was a member!

Hmmm, probably wouldn't have been that one, would it. Maybe it wasn't even Jeremy Kerr. I'll start again, a member of A Certain Ratio once played a gig with his back to the audience...

I block pop-ups so, nope, didn't get it. Not going up for this one anyways. At least, I've no plans to ... yet.

Anyone going the Band on the wall gig? My mates all think ACR are just a poor mans New Order & refuse to go.

Go with Slippy! :thumb: Anyway I'd go even on my own for ACR... never seen them, I'd really like to, how I wish they'd support New Order again...

I'm happy Rob will have a tribute concert, he really deserves it, just like Martin did. It was good to see New Order, Doves and Gabrielles Wish dedicated their releases to his memory, but a tribute concert, like the Hannett event, would be great and I'd really think about coming...
