I know we have been waiting ages and maybe its just me moaning but is anyone else just a little disappointed with the choosen songs on the forthcoming CD?

Atmosphere - not as good without ian curtis slow jam - not their best rock the cack -(sorry shack) Touched - on BBC Radio 1 live in concert CD Silent face - ditto

Wheres the new versions of temptation & bizzare love triangle.

Ceremony, Blue Monday, She's Lost Control!!!

Does anyone else agree?

I stated in a post on a seperate thread that I thought the tracklisting wasn't as sharp as it could be, there are a lot of songs on there I don't like as much. I will give the release a shot of course but to me it looks like unless youre a completist or a fan of those songs in particular, there isn't a big race for this release.

Perhaps it's a choice of tracks that the band were especially happy with? They would have to produce 500,000 different LPs if they were going to please us all!:D

As far as I'm aware, the tracks on the In Session CD are the only ones that were broadcast (and even recorded, perhaps) since the band became active again.

I'm not sure there were any other tracks to choose from, at least from the recent sessions.

Do you peoples know what your talking about? These were the songs they played. There are no others.

And Touched & KW1 are not the same as BBC in concert.

Fools. These versions are great. it does sound like a couple of you don't quite understand what this disc is supposed to be. The new version of Temptation is available with Retro and the others mentioned haven't been recorded in the studio as far as anyone knows. This is the best New Order news since 2001.

Apparently, some people think those are LIVE tracks...

C'mon people, those are recorded in STUDIO at the BBC.. Paradise is also the first collaboration of Bobby Gillespie with New Order as he's doing the backing vocals.

If you want to blame somebody, blame New Order, they decided to record THOSE specific tracks for their BBC Sessions.

And how else would a popular music recording group make money? Painting and decorating perhaps?

As opposed to people making money out of the fans by flogging bootlegs, from which the band will never see a penny ?

Fuck me Bri, I HAVE to agree with you again:jawdrop:

These are fookin magic recordings:nod: I love SJ and RTS anyway, but the two versions on Lamacq just make them sound even better. Absolutely loved the Peel 98 session as well!!!

Its better than nothing. After all theres a lot of people out there that dont have these versions. They arent remixes or a greatest hits-theyre New Order circa 1998,filling in where they were inbetween Republic & Get Ready. I for one will be outside HMV on release day.

These songs done in the studios are great versions. When i first heard them on his show they sounded brilliant.I will be buying them because although i own them already on my own CD-Rs i always buy the output.I see it as supporting the band aswell as me wanting a nice little item.On my birthday the other day i spent £95 on booze for me and a mate who had no money. Therefore £10 ain't a lot these days..is it?Felt quite ill on FRIDAY but my son said he would buy this for me to go with my new CD ALARM CLOCK with the best loading system i have seen. The whole front moves up like the doors on s DELOREAN(sorry for spelling) cars.Lights up blue whilst doing this which is rather splendid.Anyhow i digress,if you really want almost everything they have released then the money ain't important. But the songs are.Go on...treat yourself! Cheers A RECOVERING ROCKET MICK:thumb:

I don't sell bootlegs, my point is we all have the sesions, why pay for them again?

I know you don't sell them. Others do though, and as long as these recordings are available but without an official release, some people will make money flogging them on Ebay and the like.

...which pisses me off to no end. We should share and share alike.

I know they aren't "live" and I know that the group likes them. I was only saying I don't like about half the songs...so why would I spend money on it? If they came out with a polka album I probably wouldn't buy that either.

Like I said, I'm apt to give it a chance but I'm not expecting to instantly fall in love with "Rock the shack" or "Slow Jam". I also have "Transmission" on about 4 other releases, heh.

I hope I'm proven wrong and the songs I do like make it worth picking up, their live performances have been good recently so who knows? Time will tell.

Yes, I just don't care for the tracklisting of this particular release.

You have them :skeptic:

The only person who has them that I know is N21 who has a copy of the MASTER TAPE, and it sounds like shit...

I've yet to see a decent recording of them, and having them on a CD, it will sound better than a radio broadcast.

As far as I know, this is not ripping off the fans, as they are UNRELEASED before.

Tim is right, this surely helps better than buying bootlegs off EBay... (because those were sold on EBay before!)

Well, they are unique recordings of these songs, I know for sure that Rock The Shack is MUCH MUCH better without Bobby Gilespie, Close Range is unique as it has the elements of the demo versions (pre-Osbourne) when the song as called Dream On... Your Silent Face is wonderful, and that has to be the best version of Atmosphere...

And you also have unique versions of Touched, True Faith, etc...

I've been waiting since 1998 to buy this damned album!!!

Don't like it, don't buy it.. but in my head, this is an opportunity to finally get rid of the radio broadcast copies..

*Mike, this is the worst thing I've ever read from a New Order fan! Shame!

If when you download anything that might be released from your favourite band you know you could not buy the official release because you have downloaded it, then don't download. If you download, you know you'll still buy the release if it happens, there's no question about it. Downloading it's alright only as long as stuff is unreleased, but once it's released, we buy the release, unless you discovered, hearing the downloaded tracks, that that every single song on the release is totally shit, but I highly doubt this is the case! And by the way a real CD will be much better than our CDRs. :)

My guess would be that Mike taped them from the radio, not necessairly downloaded it ;)

*Yes, the meaning of what I wrote is just the same. Anyway I was smiling when I wrote that first line... (I'm no angel myself and I've had Closer taped from a friend for years before finally buying it)

I don't feel bad about my New Order mp3... I believe the band did a lot of money from me, plus I'm doing them free publicity daily :p

Exactly,Itd be interesting to work out how much weve spent on New Order (or other artists),i think weve spent enough money to be able to make our own compilations etc, these things would be classed as piracy by the RCs.

*Me neither, nor I do for the bootlegs, I've always said it's alright. But I guess you buy the releases too.

I'm reasonably happy with it... although it would have been better if they'd added a few more new versions of past classics. I know a lot of you won't be into new remixes (my generation you see!) but some of their songs now sound really dated. Take Confusion and Perfect Kiss for example...
